Description Here's a Cartograph pic of the world in Minecraft I've been working on the past few months.
Most of my development is underground, carving a vast mining network.
I've numbered the primary locations of interest for convenience.

1. My spawn point, where it all began.
2. My home base. It started out as a carved/walled bunker to defend me from the fiends at night. It has since engulfed the cliff that contained the original bunker. It has five glazed levels and a ground level with my primary operations (materials storage, forges and workbench). The tower on top reaches from the height limit all the way down to the bedrock, forming my primary mineshaft.
3. The Mace. A product of an early mining venture, where I intended to start up a second shaft down. Now it leads to a dwarven hall in the rock and an observation lounge on top. Connected to home base by a narrow tunnel between two artificial reservoirs
4. The Temple of Spawning. This is my spawnpoint sanctuary, giving a starting materials and equipment pack should I ever die in the game (and often I fall into lava). The basement level has a train station connecting to my home base, and a starting point for a future rail connection to the northern islands.
5. The traps forming a resource collection mechanism and defense for the Spawn Temple.
6. My farm where I grow and store my sugar and grain. Grain is grown in 4x4 patches and the sugar in 2x4 strips. Seeds, grain and sugar are stored in a silo.
7. The Office. A glazed five-floor structure carved out of a cliff-face. Connected to the Mace with a tunnel. Still under construction.
8. The Pac-Man statue. Made of glass and cobblestone.
9. Dante's Highrise. A long-duration project to build a glazed multilevel apartmen building from the bedrock to the height limit. Intended to give a small look at the interior of the world. Under construction.
10. South Bridge. A newly started connection to the north-south highway. Under construction.
11. North-south highway. This is the primary rapid-transit route between the spawn point and its associated sanctuary and my home base's train station.
12. Mine Station 1. This is my second vertical mining shaft, which I have in case I get lost or need to store my loot. I intend to build more of these, as my mining levels 10 and 11 are already very expansive.
13. Lakeside mining station. Built over my 1st night's sanctuary, this is the furthest point I have mined from under my primary building. I intend to have it serve as a waypoint on the east-west highway.
14. East-west highway. Under construction.

This map has been taken using the isometric option on Cartograph . Some blocks have not been rendered (stair blocks and wheat).

If you want to play this map either as a starter or just want to explore in detail what I have built, you can find the map zip file here . Please give your opinions in the comments.

seems the site where I saved it has expired. And I no longer have that export. And I've moved on to another world.

This time t'is a large castle I am constructing.
I'll put that world save up eventually at minecraft schematics.

Nah. I just wanted to use up surplus cobblestone.
A Pac-Man statue seemed like a good idea to do that.

Could you upload the map? Might be interesting to see everything "in real".

Where do you want me to upload the zip file?
Tried putting it up here, but seems dA can't handle it for some reason. The map is some 18megs.

I'd prefer if you'd just post the link here ^^ There might be several other people who'd like to explore your map.

the map is much more impressive than any map could show. You like the game don't you?

Tounushi In reply to Ayioa [2011-02-16 19:32:31 +0000 UTC]

Yeah.
How much have you explored?

What's the best spot?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ayioa In reply to Tounushi [2011-02-16 20:05:19 +0000 UTC]

I just had a quick view at all of the spots you marked and honestly there is no best spot. I like 'em all The setting simply fits.

Think you'll pick up working on the map?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ayioa In reply to Tounushi [2011-02-16 21:45:50 +0000 UTC]

I'll have to disappoint you. It's quite difficult for me to start playing at a map I don't know. I have no clue where exactly what kind of things are and so on.
But I really like your style of building. No "fun"-buildings like giant smiles or similar things. Might be fun to play a round together with you.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tounushi In reply to Ayioa [2011-02-16 23:20:17 +0000 UTC]

I have a very utilitarian taste. But I still have some aesthetic sense in my construction. The only thing I did for "fun" was that Pacman statue.

Have you explored the mine network?
Have you checked out my Cathedral of Hell (gateroom)?

Tounushi In reply to Ayioa [2011-02-12 09:35:18 +0000 UTC]

where do you want the map?

It's not that I don't like exploring, it's that I'm doing lots of mining and spelunking.

Why is that forest on fire there`?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

Tounushi In reply to Lt-Havoc [2011-02-12 09:19:57 +0000 UTC]

Lava pool.

A southern forest fire was put out just a little while ago, and that was basically my fault. I tried to get some wood around where my farm is, and I set ONE tree on fire to clear the leaves. It spread from my lakeside mining station all the way past my southern bridge. ONE tree.

Hit the download button so you can get a better very; but it does look as if the trees are on fire. This may be caused by the near-by lava β€œPool.”)

Minecraft (The surprising game where you make a epic world out from little graphics.) Best indie game I’ve seen in the last three years.

Yes I know all that and I did enlarge the map I actually do or did play Minecraft myself but never managed to make something like he did, like multi story skyscrapers and such.

Well yeah I saw the lava pool, maybe thats why the forest is burning.

Sorry if I insulted you; but I was surprised that there are many who don’t know about the download button or what Minecraft is.

Tounushi seems to not practice fire safety. ha-ha

Tounushi In reply to Psalms01 [2011-02-14 10:12:10 +0000 UTC]

The lava pool has not been touched. THAT fire is natural.
I already put out the forest fire that I caused and replanted the forest.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Lt-Havoc In reply to Psalms01 [2011-02-12 23:05:42 +0000 UTC]

Lol yeah. I more or less did the same once and had fire spread everywhere but I always planted saplings after that so I always had enough wood. I seriously need to go play it again and build a giant fortress or something, dunno yet.
