Description The m/1 Rifle is the earliest Republic military long arm. Chambered in the venerable 7.62x51mmNATO rifle cartridge, with a magazine capacity of 20. After the Liberation and the earliest wars, this sturdy weapon was relegated to a ceremonial role. The weapon is used by guards in many places, including the Senate, military memorials and graveyards, important monuments, offices of statesmen, etc. etc. The weapon, when made from modern materials and with modern ammunition, can easily rival many more modern weapon designs. This rifle is the last purely mechanical weapon left in the Republic arsenal: all components are made from metal or wood, no electrical addons can be mounted without their own power sources, and aiming is completely manual. This is also one of the few weapons that have been designed to mount a bayonet.
The weapon is strictly semi-automatic, but a fast enough shooter can reach a momentary 200rpm.
The weapon on top is a battle rifle version: all metal parts are slightly darkened and given a matte coating. The bottom rifle is used by the Republican Guard ([link] [link] ). The wooden stock has been given a prussian blue coat, the metal parts have been chromed, the bayonet is fixed, and even the bayonet grip has a blue finish. The sling would be a lacquered blue leather sling, with chromed metal parts.

The weapon is based on the Czechoslovakian ZK-420 7mm semi-automatic rifle, some tidbits are added from the M-14, the bayonet is a modification of the finnish sissipuukko. Basic use of the weapon is based on how the M14 or the M1 are used in the US and some of the newer NATO states.

This was from a moment in Republic history when military thinking was frozen to the level of the 20s-50s, so many felt that bayonets are a must in warfare. When's the last time anyone's died from a bayonet, apart from some tribal warriors in bananaland? Vietnam, was it? QCB has shifted to making smaller weapons, hand-to-hand combat, and shotguns. Bayonets are no longer an issue, but they look cool none-the-less.
And basically, I thought it'd be a high time I made a weapon with a bayonet for it, but I'm too lazy to add a mount to all the rifles.

yeah I was just trying to remember about I read that they make less accurate andif firing withone on you can damage the bayonet or something
I don't think it is good having a knife on the end of a gun
it would make buttering toast really hard
