~ (y/n) pov ~

At first, your body was purely numb but you could hear battle cries in the distance. Come on fingers, MOVE! You thought as they slowly twitched and like a stone cracking you slowly started moving them, your arms followed after. Now that they were free you could feel the immense power that started to flow through your veins and with a loud cry a stone like substance flew off your body. Gasping for air you clasp your chest with one hand while the other grabs the pole behind you, it was an absolute rush as you pulled yourself to your feet. Raising your head you could see Mystogan holding off the two bandits that brought you to the crazy old man that was standing further back. His eyes were wide as the two of you made eye contact his skin began to pale, the stone statue of Ryoto that was now to your left started to crumble away, leaving a big gaping hole where it once stood.

“No! How is this possible?! The dragon was supposed to wake up, not the girl!” The old man cried in fury as he pointed a wrinkly finger in your direction, a small laugh left your lips as you straightened out your clothes, dusting off the last few pieces of stone that clung to your clothes.

“Sorry old geezer, but the dragon had other plans.” You laughed stretching your arms above your head.

“Get her!” you hear the old geezer screech and his two lackies charged right towards you. Smiling at the warmth that spreads through you as you slide one foot back, the pressure in your chest swelled up your throat as you placed your hands in front of your mouth like a nozzle.

“Fire Dragon ROAR!” you yelled and a brilliant flame burst from the nozzle, taking out the smaller of the two lackies. The more brutish one had just managed to roll to the side and returned to his masters side.

“M-Monster!” The geezer croaked taking a few steps back.

“I’m the monster? Then why are you forcing these magical creatures to serve you!” you yell charging forward. “Fire Dragon Iron Fist!” You yell as you slam your fist into his face and send him flying through the air. As he lands, a small green circle surrounds his minions necks then shatters. The two that were fighting us quickly start heading for the exit while the kitsune runs straight over to you. “Awe so cute!” you squeal as you scoop the little fox up in your arms.

‘What on earth-land just happened?’ Mystogan muttered and as you turned to him you merely smiled and said.

“I became just friends with a grumpy old dragon!”

“heh?”

Having tied up the old man and his daughter you gathered what little of the lost items you could find and headed back to town, needless to say you handed the pair over to the Fiore Knights for further punishment. Signing while looking up at the evening sky you sat down on the nearest bench as you allowed yourself to relax, opening one of your eyes you watched as Mystogan pinch the bridge of his noes at your laziness. Looking to your right you see your employer Lord Marcus Chillies (aka kid boss) and his butler made his way through the cheering crowd. “I assume that the bandit problem has been taken care of?” Marcus asks looking up at the both of you.

“Yes sir.” Mystogan answered holding onto your bags, he is such a gentleman. Marcus smiles before he turns and leaves. The butler hands a bag to Mystogan before bowing and running off after his master, Mystogan nods in your direction before leaving.

“HEY!” you yell running after him and stealing your bag back from him you spin around a few times before continuing to walk along side him. “You mad at me Mystogan?~” you tease swaying side to side.

‘she was incredible before… but what should I say to her?’ you hear Mystogan say.

“Really? I was incredible?” You ask leaning closer to him.

“I never said that.” Mystogan stated moving a little faster.

“Yes you did.”

“(y/n) those words never left my mouth.” His words made you pause for a moment, then it hit you like a brick.

“Hell yea!!! Poison dragon for the win!”

‘poison dragon…’

“The poison dragon’s hearing is so good that they can here thoughts! I guess that is has started picking up on the hole dragon slaying magic bit.” You chuckle taking a seat as Mystogan goes off to buy train tickets. As expected, during the train ride back Mystogan silently pestered you until you caved in and told him about Ryoto and how he had essentially given you his magic.

“That reminds me… what is that doing here?” Mystogan asked pointing at the kitsune curled up beside you as your hand rested on its back.

“He wants to stay with me, there a problem?” you ask pouting slightly, Mystogan only clears his throat in response and looks out the window. Smirking at your victory you turn to watch the scenery go by as well, the train cart was mostly empty as it moved along and occasionally a lady would come along with snacks to purchase.

“Here.”

“Heh?” being brought back from dream land you see Mystogan hand you the reward money bag and as you peer inside you can see it held the total reward amount. “Are you sure? I mean… I didn’t really do much.” You say and try to hand it give it back.

“You will have to go on my next mission in the future, that can be your repayment.” He says taking the reward money and stuffing it into your backpack.

~Time skip~

After arriving at Magnolia station early in the morning, Mystogan had left you to your own devices, as you had latterly caught him doing his sneak away act. Jerk… In any case you started making your way back to the Fairytail guild. Opening the doors you spot only a few members in for the moment, but several figures around the request board caught your eye.

The Thunder Legon members, Lauxis was in the middle of the group as Bixlow was leaning on a railing behind them. Cursing under your breath you quickly make your way to the bar area where Mirajane was polishing a glass with her back to you. “Mirajane.” You call as you make your way over to her. Spinning around she locks eyes with you and in a white blur Mira tackles you in a deathly hug. “Calm down Mira.” You wheeze trying to get air back into your lungs.

“Tell me everything!” she squeals shaking you back and forth, after noticing your little buddy she shock you even harder.

“Later ok? I’m starving.” You whine managing to break free from the back and forth motion.

“Oh wait here! I’ll get you something.” And with a dash she had gone into the kitchen. Chuckling softly you sit down at the bar and chill,

“Who are you?” So much for chilling, opening one eye you see Lauxis staring down at you. Evergreen was looking at you from behind her fan and Freed stood to Lauxis’s left with one hand on his sword.

“There isn’t any real reason to know me.” You laugh nervously and scratch the back of your head. It seemed like Lauxis wanted to continue but he merely turned and headed back over to the request board. Looking over your shoulder you could see Mira standing there with several pancakes and a small glass of syrup as she was placing it down Freed came back over with a request, showed it to Mira then ran off after his teammates.

“He didn’t say anything crude, did he?” Mira asked

“No, but I have the feeling he really wanted to.” You reply taking a chunk out of the pancake pile.

“(y/n)!” turning you see Makarov walking up to you with a big smile on his face. “Mystogan filled me in on your mission, so… would you like to join Fairytail.”

After an hour later you walk down the stairs from Makarov’s office, the yellow Fairytail mark stood out proudly on your right shoulder. To see a pink haired blur fly across the room.
