I.....absolutely love this DBZ pony pic.
I could have done separate DBZ pony ones for Lyra and Bon Bon but I really like the idea of a fight pic. I have been meaning to do a fight pic for a while now and I think this was the perfect time to test it out. 
Really went overkill on this pic but I am glad I did. I LOVE that crater type ground effect. In DBZ they have that in several fights where if they are locked up the ground gives way beneath. THAT....took me one whole night just to figure out and get right.
It was a pain. So that's it on this one. Like the DBZ hair I gave to them....I still love adding my own flair to these. Personally I see this pic as a training but more likely at pic where 2 friends fight. Now that makes more sense.

Bon Bon: "This ends today! Do you hear me, Lyra?! Today, either you give up your stupid religion over extinct walking apes yourself, or I'm going to MAKE you give it up!"
Lyra Heartstrings: "Geeze, I still don't see why we should have a fight over it and destroying half of Everfree Forest!"
Bon Bon: "You brought this on yourself, not I!"Β
[They both disengage, before taking to the distance to attack]Β
Bon Bon:"Take this! POP-ROCK SHOWER!!"Β
[A shower of energy blasts, each shaped like giant pop-rock candies, build and launch themselves from her hooves and rain down from the sky towards Lyra]
Lyra Heartstrings: "RESONANCE SHIELD!" [A shield seemingly made of colorful shimmers of vibrating air appear out of thin air. The shower of energy blasts gorged craters around her, but left her untouched]Β
Lyra Heartstrings:Β "CHOIR OF DESTRUCTION!!" [She spread her stance, opened her mouth, and sang.]
[Instantly, the ground before her shatters into flying fragment, and the note she sang expanded into a blast wave that slowly build up as it rolled towards, leveling the battered ground with ever increasing ferocity before Lyra as it raced towards Bon-Bon]

[Meanwile, Celestia and Luna were watching from a cloud, casually eating popcorn]
Luna: "The fight is getting out of hoof, sister; amusing though it is. Should we not intervene?"
Celestia: "They're destroying a death-trap forest with candy and music. And don't get me started on the whole 'calling their attacks' business. We'll let them tire each other out, unless there's any further danger to a nearby town."
Luna: "...Very well. Though whenever this does stop, should we tell Miss Heartstrings that humans aren't extinct?"
Celestia: "Only if she wins. Does that sound fair?"

Okay, this pic took you forever, but the effort shows.
The background is amazing. You did an effective job of conveying layersΒ the crater effect you wanted and colors. I want to talk about the coloring, you did a wonderful job of making bits of the foreground and background distinct, yet you kept Lyra and Bon Bon the focus and making them stand out amongst the foreground and background. That takes talent.
