Story time! 8D

As Club Penguin's famous inventor and scientist sat in his lab, he flipped through some of his old blueprints. He took a longer look at an odd one. He used this on Earth Day, when he and PH went to see Tasmanian Devils. The penguin couldn't help it, but smiled of the thought of still finding fur on some of his shirts and gloves.

As throwing away the piece of blue sheet, he came across a recent one. The machine he used to import Katie's soul back to Shelby's body, so she could come back to life.

Ever since he done it, he couldn't deny it, he DID feel guilty for actually killing that teenager. Of course, he was happy to see one of his friends alive, but still... someone died for it.

If there would be some way to bring Katie back too, it would definitely lift his guilt. Only if there would be an extra body to give her soul to. Just the problem is, as she was a reincarnation, her soul  was moved back to her old body, Shelby's. It was unfortunately one soul and two bodies.

He let out an exasperated sigh and shot his head backwards in annoyance. There sure was an idea in his brain which was trying to get his attention. It's right there... somewhere. That there's a way to accomplish his plan, but it's not shining enough for him to notice it.

He hated waiting for ideas. He KNEW he knew something. It can't be impossible. After all, he could make the dream of time travelling a reality. Twice. Brainstorming a way to create a breathing, artificial life should be a piece of cake. But it wasn't.

How penguins are born at all..? He wondered.

Penguins... well... love each other very much, the female lays the egg, then wait three months and the little is born. It wouldn't be a challenge to find a father, but artificial mother IS impossible to make. She has to be alive. But this method wouldn't be working anyway, because that's not Katie, but another life.

He laid back in his chair, sighing again. "Come on Gary, you upgraded the Migrator twice, you traveled back to the time of the dinosaurs, you figured out the secret Ingredient of your medieval relative's potion book, you survived a freezing and you even made a contact with your ghost great uncle! You brainstormed an idea to save the island from sinking, as well as the solution of that infamous question of 'which was the first, the penguin or the egg?'! Why a simple machine like this is so difficult to think of?!" He snapped at himself.

He stared at the ceiling from behind his huge glasses. The orange-ish light of the early morning sun coated the ceiling in a warm, slightly brownish light. His mirror nearby had shot the light back to the window and spread it all over the room.

The scientist slowly peered up from his chair, deciding to go walk for it. It never helps to sit in one spot for too long when thinking. Besides, he needed fresh air too, sometimes.

As he took a step, his foot got caught in an object which caused him to fall over. He even had the misfortune to land on his face with a loud crack of something.

"Oh fish... Not the best moment for my glasses to break" He whispered.

Getting up at once, he realized that his glasses were good as new. Not even a scratch. Instead, he could feel that the rough landing grazed some of his feathers from his forehead. Now, his light pinkish-grey skin was visible on his head.

Seeing the feathers lying on the floor, he let out a sigh again.

At least the investigators will have my DNA evidence if I disappear... He thought.

And that was when it hit him.

DNA.

Of course! You don't need two bodies to create life! Katie might not have a vessel (body) anymore, but using penguin's anatomy, biology and maybe a little bit of cybernetic prosthetics, along with her DNA, he has the chance to create one, breathing, living penguin!

"Gadzooks!!!" He exclaimed in sudden excitement

He forgot about his bruised head in no time. He stood up and lunged towards the metal door of his lab, taking off to the hospital.

~

Gary, like a maniac ripped the door open to his old lab on the -2 second floor of the hospital. It was the best idea EVER to leave the room (and the whole level, actually) untouched.

The laboratory was just the mess they left here over 20 years ago. No... it was essentially 22 years, 3 months and 19 days, as Noah is now 7. Yeah, it's 22 years then. Good thing penguins never get old virtually.

Lifting the giant pod which Katie was lying inside during the operation, he grinned widely as he found what he was looking for exactly.

A piece tiny, dusty and rotting purple feather was lying under a shard of glass innocently.

Feathers- especially the ones that can be found on the upper body as to protect the main organs- are soft, yet really strong. The ones on the face, arms and forehead are weak and could take only hours to rot away and regrow. But when it protects organs... He stopped philosophy-ing to carefully pick up the DNA evidence.... It doesn't rot away in 30 years... Bless penguins biology.

With the tiny item he needed, he quickly and carefully raced towards the door, running back to his lab.

~

"This has to work, it MUST!!!" Gary shouted in excitement as he placed all the 'ingredients' he needed to succeed in his project.

By the time he yelled this statement, he already built a female body base from rubber and soft plastic and an unknown green liquid.

This goo I added shall make a chemical contact with the new soul in the vessel. It will go just like how the baby's organs and skin are made, just a lot faster. It will probably come with slight shrinking of the vessel as I don't know what size Katie was, but it's not likely... I think.

Installing the machine at once and connecting sensors on the body base, he pulled up the first glove he could find in his drawer. It turned out to be the one with the Tasmanian Devil's fur on it, but he was too excited to care. Carefully he placed the feather in a small glass bubble and pushed the red button of his detonator.

Nothing happened. His grin and happiness lightly dropped.

He pushed again.

Nothing. Nada.

He began pushing it again wildly, when his ears finally became aware of a familiar sound. He turned around to see that the conveyor belt, where he kept his tools and half-done projects on, had started moving. He frowned and pushed the button. Causing it to stop. He hit the button again, eyes fixed on the conveyor belt. It started moving again.

Push. Stop. Push. Goes. Push. Stops.

He threw the detonator away before remembering that he built the 'Start' button on the control pad of his machine.

Pardon me... He thought sheepishly.

Stepping over the control pad, he pushed the big BLUE button (XD stupid Gary)..

Almost everything has gone as it was expected. The green goo began glowing and slowly formed a soft, pinkish-grey skin on the base, except on the feet and the beak, where a harder layer of orange skin came into view. Gary just stood there, awe-struck.

This was when something unusual occurred. Instead of the purple shaded layer of feathers, dark blue colored, fur like quills grew out. It was similar to Gary's but lighter than that. The hair also wanted to grow out, but it wasn't brown. It was... Bubblegum pink? Really?

But the event that has haunted the inventor for the rest of his life was still to come. The goo began glowing in a neon green light even more brightly, then suddenly -without any real reason- it has gone out with a loud blow. Nothing was damaged, it was only the noise which sounded like an explosion, thankfully.

Gary held his head in his flipper as to defend himself and fell to the floor in an embryo pose. As he opened his eyes, he came to senses and saw that his lab was in normal condition. Sitting up, he saw the body was gone from the table.

"What in the name of the Gadget family?!" He yelled, searching for the vessel.

As his sharp glare wondered across the table, he noticed something really tiny lying in a smaller pool of goo.

The creature looked like a normal penguin. Anatomically had a perfect shape. Only, it did not reach the 3 inches height. It had brown sparkling orbs with weird, black lines under its eyes which were tattooed on its beak too. It slowly breathed and shot its head up. The creature then smiled widely, got up from the table and lunged towards Gary with surprising speed. The scientist couldn't act in time, and by the time he reached to grab that mini penguin, it already has found its way into his shirt and slipped up and down, tickling the penguin really badly.

Gary's eyes crossed reflexively at the impulse and immediately tried to grab the creature. However, it was too fast for him so the best he could do was to wriggle around and run upside down the lab. He indeed was ticklish.

Suddenly, he felt something sharp- or rather small and pointy- dug into his left shoulder, causing the scientist to curse loudly. He finally reached into his shirt and pulled out the penguin to lift it up to eye-level.

"Alright, you literally little excuse for penguin. I swear, next time you bite and or jump into my shirt and run around tickling me, I will definitely gift you to the puffle feeders to chop you down into the O'Berry sack, because they're not actually picky about what goes into the blender!" He threatened.

The creature gave him a long, dumb look before showing its neon green tongue as a response to him.

"Y-You little...!" Her gawped.

Setting it down into his palm, he stared at it, wondering what the hell did he just create. Because it definitely wasn't Katie.

Still...

It was made of her feathers. With her DNA. It has a part of her in the inside, and besides... he shouldn't have expected to bring her fully back to life, as she had no own soul. Despite that and the relatively minor trouble it caused him five minutes ago, he was proud of the results.

"What are you? And what's your name?" He asked it.

"Uhh... I'm a penguin, I think." It answered slightly dumbly, revealing a squeaky, most likely female voice.

"You are a girl?"

"Yus." She smiled

"Do you have a name?" The scientist asked, forgetting the fact the he just created her, she obviously doesn't have one. Or if she does by some kind of miracle, she is not likely to remember it.

"...What's a name?" She finally spoke.

"A phrase. They call you like that. For example, my name is Gary because my parents gave this name to me, so everyone calls me that." He explained.

The tiny female stood in his palm, staring at him with a 'I don't understand a single word' glare.

I have a feeling I'm dealing an IQ lacking penguin here. Besides.... Those black marks are now way to be there naturally. It looks JUST like a Tasma- oh... He looked up as he remembered that he had the ripped, furry gloves on. Some fur must have found their way inside the vessel and malfunctioned.

The blue quills are most likely to come from me, as I'm the creator of her. Of course! I didn't wear gloves when I picked up Katie's feather from the lab. My own DNA was fresh like a fish. It means... I'm related to this god-knows-what. In any case... the reason of the size and pink hair, along with the low IQ remains a mystery for now.

Gary finally spoke up from his thoughts:

"You know what?" He spoke slower and clearer for her to understand, trying to use the easiest words possible. "I will give you a name. When I say it, you respond to it somehow. Okay?" He slowly asked.

A bright smile covered the female's face who nodded. She understood.

"I wonder what name would fit you..." He mumbled to himself. "Seeing that you are quite abnormal yourself, a rather unusual name would do. Something that starts with 'Y' just to make it interesting." He spoke to it, forgetting to slow down. It was shown as the little penguin's face darkened and the dumb glare sat into her eyes again.

The inventor cleared his throat before speaking clearly again:

"I will name Yumi. Do you like your name?"

"Yes!" Yumi answered in a chipmunk-like frequency of voice. She indeed will be needing to study.

Gary smiled and lifted his flipper to set her to his shoulder, but poor Yumi didn't know she was supposed to be holding onto his coat and slipped down on his chest, right into his pocket.

The scientist could feel her wriggling a bit before settling down into a comfortable lying pose. Moments later, she was softly and quietly snoring.

He shrugged. "I think she likes it there."

He then took off from where he was standing, walking carefully towards the door. During his walk, he was still pondering about just what did he create exactly...

Aww~ Gary has a mini-daughter!

I wonder how will he deal with parenting a mix of himself, a dead teenager and a Tasmanian Devil who is lacking all kind of knowledge XD Won't be a piece of cake, if you ask me, heh heh...

If you're wondering why Tasmanian Devil, that's because I LOVED Taz-Mania as a child, it was/is my favorite cartoon! I love that insane little guy, especially because he can barely talk normally

And if you judge me for liking an adorable Looney Toons Cartoon, then let me remind you that there are older people than me who are into MLP. (I don't have anything against them, I just don't like MLP that much. I actually find it kinda creepy...)

Well, time for bed! Good Night!

Yeah, I use both. I colored Gary's blue parts and Yumi's hair with markers, but the rest were made with pencils. And the outlines are made with markers too
