Basics;
Akumas are a domestic speices, used to fight off larger preditors such as Bears and Lions and tigers (Oh my!)
They are onivores, and some have been domesticated down to Herbavores for the house breeds. They originated in more colder areas, and have a three-layered coat, the first for keeping cold water and blood off thier coat and the hair allows the liquids to slide off, the second they have to keep cool in the summer and warm in the winter, and the base hair is fine and thin, and most top breeders shave to the thin hair to give a more tame look. The males tend to be about 5 and a half feet to the shoulder on all fours, and females 5 feet to the shoulder. They arnt that well to work on a farm unless familerized as a pup, for they are most likely to chase down the farm animals, throw off any harness or saddle, and don't work well in a group bigger then three.
As for breeding;
to breed a group of pups, it has to be done in a set time frame, every other year on the very first snow and the two weeks that follow. Two females need to be grouped together with one male, or the lone female might denie the male and in worst cases kill the male. after the pregnacy happens, most males will leave and regroup with his litter brothers or other male companions and the two females will take in any unbred female and the three will bond over raising the pups, and average litter size of 4 pups but some extreme cases go to 7. all females take on one of three roles; Milker, Watcher, and hunter. these three roles switch in rotation every time the milker runs out of her breeding season milk, about a mounth supply. by about 3 months the pups are able to go out with the three mothers and learn to hunt, and by 6 months the pups are lable fit to run off to form groups amongst themsleves only to repeat said cycle the year after the next.
