Description A piece done for Naughty Gras 2014

Not historically accurate or anything but she was fun. Im not very good at lighting effects so if anyone has suggestions for backlighting, that would be wonderful!

I really love the sheer fabric of her skirt -- you've always had a knack for translating cloth to art, it makes me so jealous! The fade of skin to feathers on her arms is fantastic as well. I have to say, despite the fact that harpies are supposed to be hideous creatures, this one is quite lovely. As for back-lighting...well, if I knew how to help you there, then I'd be utilizing the effect in my own art so often that it'd get boring.

In any case, this piece is definitely one of my favorites of yours.

you know, for the amount of fun i had with this one, i always forget it exists until someone comments on it. Β i think this might be a good one for me to repaint in the future.

She's beautiful! I donno, backlighting would be cool but I'd have to play with Photoshop because I don't know how to do that off the top of my head. Maybe you could do a blue sky with some pretty clouds as background? Since harpies are sky creatures. Some mountains at the bottom/in the distance for perspective? I don't know what to suggest. The harpy herself is beyond superb and the white background sort of fits but it might be bland. Hard to find faults with your work, you know

Haha, I'm no good at backgrounds, either. I'm usually out with a camera and that captures everything... my drawing skills, not so much. I feel ya.
