EDITOh my god! Thankyou thankyou THANKYOU, Emerald-Depths and mintyy !
I just can't believe I got a DD! I've always dreamed of having one ever since I joined dA~ ♥
Oh, but by the way, I'm sorry, but I won't be making any changes to the picture... The white background, sort of slow ascending animation, and the "unnecessarily large canvas" are gonna stay. I made this in the beginning of 2009, and I'm not gonna go back.
But thankyou for the constructive criticism!

Behold! My first ever emoticon animation~
It's sort of a cycle here; First life, curiosity, death, and recreation......
I dunno |D; *shrugs*
Also this was kind of an exploration on the art of pixel-animation for me. As you see, there are different, well.... 'consistancies' of this emote. I wanted to try going from solid, to gooey, to brittle, to bubbly liquid, and I'm pretty happy with the results.
Anyway, there you go.

As a fellow emoticonist, I must say, I am very, very impressed with your first emote.
It has an original concept, it has decent shading, the animation is exceptional, and you have already grasped many concepts that take others quite a long time to figure out. The squishing, stretching, bouncing, and the facial expressions are all very impressive.
I would suggest that you get rid of that white background and crop it though, to make it seem a little more DD worthy, because at first I was definitely "WTF is ^mintyy doing?"

I don't think I'll be going back to edit any of this... sorry. I made it last year and haven't touched it since, and I have a lot of work to do already with school and other things in life.

Cute! The zoom up to getting stuck on the ceiling is a little slow and floaty, but nothing a couple omitted frames couldn't fix. Overall this is very impressive for a first time piece! Congrats on the DD
