Description

Part of me wants to disregard that speech EDI gives in the Synthesis Extended Cut ending.

“I am Alive, and I am not Alone.”

EDI, I think even at the early stages of the Game you were more alive than you give yourself credit for. And you were never alone. I feel the same way about her as I do about Legion (do I sense a House alliance forming?). Despite all that talk about Synthetics being far from human and ruling out coexistence, EDI and Legion are evidence to the contrary. Those two display so much emotion throughout the ME3, especially during the fight for Rannoch: despair, heartbreak, courage, love... those two are symbols of hope that peace and coexistence was always an option.

If I haven’t said it before I’m damn well going to say it now: the Catalyst is full of S***!

“Blah, Blah, Blah, Synthetics and Organics are enemies, Blah, Blah, Blah, there’s no hope for peace, Blah, Blah, Blah, viscous cycle will continue.”

Let me tell you something Mass Effect’s answer to Joffrey, through Legion’s sacrifice the Quarian/Geth conflict was finally ended and both races highly benefited from this new alliance. And one Jeff ‘Joker’ Moreau wasn’t off-put at the idea of starting a relationship with a Synthetic. Yes they had their squabbles (see ME2), but what relationship doesn’t? And I wouldn’t be surprised if the main reason for any negative attitude towards Synthetics can be blamed on the Reapers – which I might add that little brat unleashed on everyone. The Geth and Synthetics weren’t about conflict and whipping out Organics, they just wanted peace and to be treated like equals.

So with all that considered and knowing all there is to know about EDI, you can probably assess where her House Motto came from. Even her pose has symbolic value to her feelings about Synthetic equality: her right hand looks like she’s almost ‘reaching out’ to her fellow Synthetics. That and it’s based on where she is most at home: in the Normandy cockpit with Joker. Sigil’s an obvious choice, her original chess-piece form from ME2. Stop giggling Traynor.

Of all the Throne Effect House leaders I’ve done thus far – and will do – EDI might have the most symbolic of the planet colours: white/colourless like the Moon. Anybody care to guess where that inspiration came from?

Just think, only seven left to go.

Mass Effect belongs to Bioware and EA
Game of Thrones belongs to George R.R. Martin

I agree with your statement here. Synthetics proved to be able to collaborate with Organics. The Geth willing to forgive the Creators despite how they treated them really touched me.

Reapers are wrong. And the Catalyst doesn't know everything. I have just finished playing ME and I loved it.

EDI was an amazing character and I loved the Geth. I was sad that I was forced to sacrifice them because I chose Destroy, as I didn't believe in the Catalyst's and TIM's lies.

Nice picture btw, but I am wondering if she is sitting on the throne or maybe she IS the throne ;-D

"The Geth don't want to fight you. If you can believe that for just one minute, this war will be over".

By far one of my favourite moments in the franchise, and still gives me feels and chills every time. Plus it only gets worse when I remember what becomes of Legion afterwards.

Also, you're now a fan of Mass Effect?.....   I bid thee welcome into the amazing world of Mass Effect! I would however recommend treading on the side of caution when it comes to the fandom (they can be a toxic bunch sometimes ) but then again what fandom isn't tainted by immature trolls these days? Anyway, don't let that put you off something that you love. Can't wait to see what kind of works you could be inspired to make, and it's going to make the uploading of some of my future works veeeery interesting

Same. So many playthroughs and I always go for Destroy. Then again, one of my main motivations is just that I can't allow Shepard to die.

GLORY BE TO THE VOICE-ACTING GODDESS THAT IS JENNIFER HALE!

Hehe, I wouldn't put it past her that she found some way to interface with the throne

Her voice is glorious and her voice suited Eli, my character, so well. She is even Canadian xD

And yeah, I am a fan now! I have already published 2 pieces on my gallery!!!

And I tend to stay away from fandoms, all of them have toxic people. ME has many parts that are best left to interpretation and people tends to impose their view on everybody!

And yes, the part with the Geth alongside with Tuchanka really touched my heart! I love the geth and I almost hated those stubborn Quarians there!

I don't blame you. Don't get me wrong, the more awesome people like yourself become fans of the likes of Mass Effect, all the better But as someone who has often watched from a distance as fandom discourse taints something wonderful, I'd feel like a lousy friend if I didn't warn you.

Oh, don't get me started on the Tuchanka mission! That hit me hard emotionally both during the highs (Eve/Bakara rallying the Krogan to stop bickering and fight for the species) and lows (Mordin becoming another casualty  ).

I felt really sad for Mordin but I watched the videos of him being saved and I could only think how destroyed he seemed by not being able to fulfill his last will and cure the genophage and then I believed that the best outcome for him was sacrificing himself and being remembered as the very model of a scientist salarian who cured the genophage. Still, I cried, and I rarely cry.
