Description
A piece that I worked on for a real long time for The Disney-club coloring book challenge .I originally started off with this page: www.getcoloringpages.com/color…
I used Paul Delaroche's Painting "The Execution of Lady Jane Grey" as Inspiration: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Exec…
I remember when I first came across the painting, I instantly found the visual of the lady in white being lead to her execution captivating. So I wanted to recreate this captivating and emotional effect from this painting on to the coloring page, since I felt that the theme of the coloring page and the painting were very similar.
I used the painting as a color inspiration as well to help keep a consistent historical look.
All the coloring and shading was done just with a computer mouse. It was a real difficult task.
Anyways, Hope you all enjoy!!!
Here is my other entry to the contest if you want to check it out:

The art, what else?
I think anyone who can draw better than me is amazing.

Wow! This is absolutely amazing. I love the whole darker tone to this. It makes it all the more menacing. Wonderful work here!

WOW! This is something truly impressive and magical. You should be very proud of how this turned out. I wouldn't be surprised if this places.
I just love how the whites and golds draw the eye directly to Elsa. Giving her those shades really emphasizes her innocence in the situation, and to somebody unfamiliar with the scene, it looks like she's yielding to her fate.
Hans looks so foreboding in the background. The fact that he's shrouded in darkness and dressed in all black makes him look even more cold and callous.
The background is seriously incredible. I love the subtle outlines of the trees and the way the snow is blowing in the wind.

Wwwooow...awesome!
Everything just looks great and kind of creepy, too
Both Hans and Elsa look fantastic, also Elsa in this unusual but fitting look (I have never seen her in colours like this).

Woah, this is awesome! I love how you colored it and connected it to Delaroches painting. The use of colors is great, it makes it quite symbolic. The golden-white of Elsa might represent her angel-like nature, innocence, wisdom and nobility. The contrast between the dark black colors of Hans and Elsas golden-white colors make Hans the more sinister and evil and Elsa the more good and brave. The dark background with dominating blackish color seem to represent the harsh and cruel environment Elsa has to go through with Hans as part of this environment. Both the contrasts and the colors makes it so emotional.

That's so beautiful! I LOVE all the different colors! Or, er... it's black and white colors, but I'm sure you understand what I mean. I like them. I feel like this might be how they would actually look.

Oh this is really well done.
I liked looking at the painting "The Execution of Lady Jane Grey" and your picture. SO well translated and it explains your choices of colouring.
The white dress is so lovely on Elsa and Hans face is super good.
the shadows in the snow is rather terrifying. I see them more like elsa's emotional ghost.
Also the snow swirling around the bottom of the page sets the dark mysterious intense and sad mood

Excellent recreation. This looks darker and more visually impressive than the same scene in the actual movie. Hans looks more sinister and scary, and Elsa stands out much more visually. Elsa seems to be thinking, "This is what I deserve. I just hope it's over quickly."

Thank you very much! I was trying to give this a very dark feel to it. So I am glad that I succeeded there!

You don't have to think of it like that. Just imagine Anna is off screen about to save Elsa.
