I know it might even be my weird monitor, but the background looks intentionally faded and that's cool. But so does the suitcase and the right foot. The texture finishes it! The shoes not leaving a mark in the sand is something that I noticed, but then again this isn't completely realistic... why couldn't this be in the Surreal category? I think it would fit wonderfully.
To me, the mask is a means to protect/get away from the present and into the frame, into pictures, into memories... this image makes me think, so good job I say.
