Description
At last, it's finally finishedYup, this is it, the project that I have been working on since February this year and now, after 8 months, it's finally complete
The project's main theme was to revive Maserati's famous mid-engined sports supercar, the Merak, which actually had a Citroen engine
Now that they are targeting more "NEW MASERATI" buyers by releasing less costly cars, such as the Kubang SUV and the Ghibli sedan, I certainly think the Italian supercar
manufacturer would be able to improve their brand image by revivng a classic from the past.
So please comment and tell me what you guys think about it, Thank you !

This is nice, but looks like a Peugeot to my eyes. But, then again...I've been wrong before.

Question. How will you open the doors? (BTW, IT LOOKS ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING!)

This is a very good Photoshop render and especially like the unique surfacing. My only criticism is that I wish you made sure the underlay was absolutely perfect before rendering purely because the proportion are out which is a real shame. Other than that very nice!

Great job but how you made the sketches? you used a tablet? because i need to buy a tablet and i need some advice ! thanks in advance

No, I used Copic and Shinhan markers for the renderings on the top right corner, and of course, the usual ball point pen, black sharpie, and plus pen
I use Lapass tablet. It's actually quite good. But if you really want to use your tablet on a daily basis, I highly recommend you get a Wacom tablet. It's the best in the series

ok i see so you made the sketches but i can't understand how you can still draw like this toyonda.deviantart.com/art/The…
I mean it just doesn't add up these are clearly 2 different ways of drawing ; if you can draw those car sketches by yourself i don't see the reason of drawing like a 10 year old after that ! I hope i haven't offended you but i'm just curious

Drawing by photoshop in MUCH MUCH HARDER than drawing on pencil my friend. The Shelby that I drew was a cakewalk compared to this. A traditional media allows you total contro of the drawing tool which you are using. However, in the case of digital, it's much harder.
Drawing like a 10 year old..... what are you talking about????????

i was talking about the shelby mate not the sketches clearly the sketches are very good (especially if they are harder to draw digitally) so there is no reason for you to execute that shelby so poorly ! again i'm not intending to offend you just speaking my taughts

The Shelby I consider the best.

Ok i see. Let me explain better what i wanted to say : your traditional work(even if it's your bmw or your shelby ) is kinda childish .....compared to your digital sketches ! So for me is still a mistery how is possible to draw much better on photoshop but not on real world. Anyways it's good that you're making progress and that is the most important thing but you have a long road ahead of you till you can get a job in the industry . Anyways i wish you luck and maybe you find the time to visit my gallery

because you cna always make unlimited amount of corrections on digital sketches, and technology does the airbrushing and special effects for you

Great job! I wondered if we might feature your art in our Maserati Club International publication this quarter? The featured car is the Merak, so this fits right in. I'd need high res art and a little bio on you by the end of the week. You can email me at jodi(at)maseratinet(dot)com. In order to publish it, we have to eliminate a couple trademarked logos, but if you are willing, let me know.
Thanks! Jodi

yes, and how can I do that? Via E-Mail or here? And this is already high-res. You can download this file by clikcing the download button right under the "print ont enabled" button on the right and get the full 7970 X 5379 resolution which I have set
I would love to see my art published on that wonderful Maserati site

Hello again,
Some additional comments came from the Group. The Merak should have a buttress design to connect it to the original model styling. Additionally, both the Bora [big brother] and Merak in European form had a downward point in the middle front of the hood with a trident situated in the middle of the front grill.

my design "DOES" have a flying buttress, like the Lamborghini gallardo......................................

Yes, the flying buttress is like that of the Lamborghini Gallardo, a beautifull design. A Merak styled flying buttress would be a truer tribute to the lines of the original Merak design. Just sayin.

Hello Toyonda,
Speaking for the Merak Group, U R very talented, your Merak design is awesome.
This engine originally was code named C 114 [C as in Citroen] when fitted to the Citroen SM [Sport Maserati] the original recipiant. The engine however was from the beginning, Maserat.
Enter the Merak, the engine was enlarged from 2.7 L to 3.0 L and code named AM 114. When the Merak SS variant came into being, more horse power was extracted for better performance as well as other numerous changes. For more Merak information visit us at www.MerakGroup.com/ and www.Merak-Registry.com/
The present reality is that Fiat is the parent company. Simply put, Fiat has designated Ferrari to build the sports cars and Maserati to build the land yachts, nice as they may be. Such was the case with the current Ferrari California, originally designated to be a Maserati. Who Knew??????
If this car comes to being, personally, I will be the first in line to place an order.
Again, thank you for keeping the Merak spirit alive.
Ciao,
Merak Group

UNIQUE DESIGN TRAIT : The roof is entirely glass, connected to the front windshield. This is a nod to future materials and technology and enhancement in aesthetic aspects.
AND WITH STRONGER GLASS FIBER MATERIALS BEING DEVELOPED, THIS COULD BE A TREND FOR MANY CARS FOR THE FUTURE.
