It wasn't true. There was no way it could be true. In fact, she refused to believe it. Life wasn't that cruel, it couldn't possibly be. All she had known since a baby was loss, those she had dared to love being ripped away, there was just no way it could happen once more... at least not yet. Surely?
Three years. Three years was not enough.
The snow pillowed down from above, covering London and deafening the streets. It was almost eerie, the silence, although that oculd have been her mind blocking out the nonchalant noises around, seeing as they really didn't matter. Her engine was just one of many as it growled through the streets at high speed, hr tires slipping and failing to grip properly, snow being scattered up behind her as she fought the elements. Her paint was ice to the touch, the chill going right through her frame, but she didn't care.
In truth she was numb, numb to everything. Her thoughts, emotions, the outside world. She wanted to feel, but she couldn't bring herself to.

Finally, the metal gates loomed from the snowy fog, and she careened through, skidding as she once more struggling to control her frame. She skidded to a halt, seeing a stone that protuded through the snow, the words on the front giving her chills.

She stood in dismay, her heart breaking all over again. She hadn't wanted to beleive it. She wanted so hard to beleive that this was all a fake, a ruse, undercover. They were agents? It wasn't as simple as just being... crushed, right? He was experienced, seasoned.. it wasn't possible. Surely.

But the truth was far harsher than her idealic world. Her mentor Leland had been killed in the line of duty, exactly three years after plucking the young broken Celica from the snow. He'd built her up, made her who she was now, and she'd been excited to show him all she had learned, all she could do, thanks to him. Though now she stood alone, staring at the only reminence that he'd even inhabited this earth. A grave with his name.
There was nothing else, and she trembled, violently shaking from the grief that slammed her emotions, over and over until she broke down in sobs.

"YOU LIED!" She screamed suddenly, trembling and sobbing as she finally let the news sink in. That he was gone.

"YOU TOLD ME I'D BE OK! YOU'D NEVER LEAVE!" She cried out to the snow, only seeing white as it hurled toward her. "HOW COULD YOU LEAVE!" Her voice rang out, wavering and altering in pitch. She'd had so many taken... why him? He had given her life, to have his taken.

She slid to the floor, crying into her tires, screaming out in fury and hurt, shuddering with fatigue, her pain raw. If he could see, oh boy, she'd be scolded. This wasn't how an agent acted, missions came first, then came the emotion... but he'd always said it with a smile. He wouldn't have put his life second. That wasn't him.

She sniffed, wiping her eyes, unaware of another behind her.

"He didn't lie" Came the soft tone of his best friend, Finn. Shadow remained with her back to him, not wanting to face the Faultless.

"He's gone..." Was all she could utter. A sigh came from the male, and he nodded.

"Physically, yes... But you know he would have done his job until his last breath. He was always going to go out like this... with a bang, he always said" He managed a half chuckle, though the Faultless felt he could let his own emotion show a little more now, there was nothing to hide from Shadow.

She shuddered. "This is all he has... all that's left of him in this world. A stupid stone. He's got nothing in this world that even suggested he was ever here" She managed to growl, wanting to cry all over again. Finn watched her for a few moments, pain in his eyes.

"That's not true" He said softly, almost whispering. The Celica glanced round, finally meeting his gaze.

"How so?" She asked, wiping her eyes. He managed a faint smile.

"He made you a part of him. You are his legacy"

Some of Shadow's lore, finding out about Lelands death. When he dies on mission, it's just before her graduation, and Finn thinks it best to hold the information until after she graduates.
Once she finds out, the funeral has already been held, and she misses it. The only thing she has to remember him is a photograph, a snow globe and his tombstone.
Finn thinks different however.
