Description

With autumn at an end, and the chill of winter finally gripping the land it leaves the domain looking rather bleak. The flora is dead, the fauna is scarce, and the nights are long and cold. But despite all of this, there is beauty still to be found. The nights are so quiet and peaceful, and on some nights the air is so still it feels like time itself has become frozen. It's moments like this that Balduin finds a strange sense of comfort in, and even more so as he looks up into the dark sky and see's it being illuminated by moonlight, starlight, and dancing coloured lights streaking across it's expanse.

I myself am not a winter person, I dread it every year. This year a little more than others. I just finished moving across the country from a place that typically has more mild winters to a place where the winters are very long, and very cold. But last night when I was letting the dogs out I looked up and for the first time in my life I saw the northern lights. They were more beautiful than I had imagined they'd be, and it really made me think that maybe this winter won't be as bad as I think it is.
