Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend

This is of course, in past tense. A piece of Hawkspirits past; the worst day of her life in fact.
Hawkspirit lives in the constant memory of losing her brother. It's true, the loss of both her parents and her sister were tragic as well but it is her brothers death that haunts her in not only dreams, but in her waking moments. It is the reason for her tough exterior, her refusal to get too close to anybody, and the part of her that she tries to let no cat see; the part of her that lives in constant guilt and the part of her that craves for the forgiveness she fears she will never be given for letting her brother die right in front of her.
