Description
We found this baby raccoon in my aunts office, apparently Animal Control took the rest of the liter along with the mom, we took care of him for 2 days because he was very weak, as you may know, it is not allowed to take care of raccoons. We decided to take him to the animal shelter, to find out that the next day he was put to sleep
cause the Wildlife Preserve had told them to do so, or leave him to starve to death...His name was Meeko

It isnt allowed because raccoons have rabies, and its against the law to keep them or take care of them. It was even ilegal to feed the baby, I really regret taking him to the animal 'shelter', I thought they would send him to the preserve, I bet the rest of the litter was put to sleep too :/ The mom got away when they were taking her to the shelter.

I dont know. And these laws are not only in kansas, theyre in some other states.
