This looks great, you always nail the eyes in your portraits. Really helps ground the image. Also great to see how your technique develops with each self portrait. Hair looks great, detailed without being distracting and the background compliments the portrait beautifully.
I do wish I could still paint as well as I used to but with all the 3D work I do, 2D painting has taken a fatal blow!

Aww thanks bro! I wanted to make this one a little more painterly and add a bit more interesting colour.
You're lucky you can turn your hand to either, in my opinion! And better to have mastered 3D and let the painting slip a little, than to be mediocre at both, right?

Cheers very much. Yeah you're right, if I get tired of 3D I suppose I can always go back to drawing and painting. The last painting I did (that I finished) was back in 2007!! Which is scary to think of...anyway. Starting to ramble. Haha.

Thanks Ivan! Yeah, I learn as I go, and I experiment a lot with approach and technique. They aren't always successful, but they're all part of the journey
