Description
I had a few requests for a drawing tutorial for Lackadaisy so I figured, hey! Let's draw some stupid, whynot?Originally, it had a painting tutorial included, but it was getting to be too long, so I truncated it. That part might make it onto lackadaisycats.com when I hoist up there, though.

it's a reference to an earlier posting here in my gallery...certain people (or cats for that matter) just shouldn't be allowed to wave a gun around.

Ahhh that was so fun to read, and so enlightening, too. Now I know how to foreshorten things! I think. The sandwich and bunny have got to be my favourite parts, and your shading always amazes me. <3

You have a divine sense of humor. Have you ever considered writing a How-To book? You wouldn't believe the money involved in that sort of thing.

That was perhaps the best-written, most charming tutorial I've ever read :] So many tutorials are slapped together with jumbled explanations riddled with typos and jargon. This one, however, was perfectly clear, very helpful, and highly entertaining XD Plus, I love seeing the step-by-step drawings of my favorite homicidal kitties.
...so, do you really draw on yellowed paper with brown pencils, or do you just photoshop it to make it look cooler? (I won't tell )

I draw on endangered rhinocerous hide leather with liquid ink made from pureed Costa Rican songbirds...oh, wait, no. That's someone else. I'm not that interesting. I draw with standard #2 pencil on standard printer paper. The sepia tones are just a little post-scanning color adjustment.

It's also a very good one! I've never really realized how important the basic shapes are.

i have one question, do you transfere the pic to another paper? like putting a piece of paper ontop and then make the finnishing thing, or do you always work on the same paper all the way through?
π: 0 β©: 1
tracyjb In reply to Zweetchuck [2006-06-13 20:49:12 +0000 UTC]
I almost always start and finish on the same piece of paper...unless I accidentally erase a hole into my original sheet or something. It's been known to happen.

I suck at drawing (belive me because I draw like a 3 years old kid and iΒ΄m 16 ). I canΒ΄t even draw a cone or something like that (the only thing I can draw are cubes
).
Nevertheless itΒ΄s still a good tutorial and it in my favourites.
(Perhaps the reason of why I stink at drawing is that I was always paying attention to classes when the rest of the students were drawing in the notebook... maybe thatΒ΄s the reason...).
Also youΒ΄re right about one thing...
Eliminate the friends that arenΒ΄t useful anymore (i also do that  )
