Description
I don't often paint landscapes, so this was something a bit different...also a compositional challenge that I'm not sure I was successful with. I do like the blue-gray mood of it, though. It's an illustration for the story featured on my web site...my character Dustin looking uncharacteristically morose.Related content

Looking back on my faves, I came across this piece. I was surprised to see it had been done by you. It definitely was a change in style for sure, but it worked well. The slight purple glare in the clouds is interesting.
I'm sure it's over-said, but his expression really does say a lot, and not just his face, his hands as well.

The colors give this the perfect mood. You wonder what happened, and what he's thinking about. I love the branches and bushes, it gives everything a dead look.
Love it!

Ýour work is truly amazing, I'm yet again looking through your gallery and I am quite sure many more of your drawings will be added to my favourites. The 'Lackadaisy' comic is also wonderful, humerous and with really nice characters.

I have to say it that this is most WONDERFUL and breathe-taking image you did. You have a fantastic art skill, and this image also made me think about Arthur and the round table, or how the survivor see the cause of battle in his eyes. This deserves a fave!

You probably could do a better job composition wise by expanding the width, giving it a "widescreen" feel. It simply looks a tad cramped like this. Also you might want to consider showing more of the sky and sword; the sword itself seems like a near-hidden detail in that corner.
You did a good job with the mood and colors.

It's amazing. I love the colours and the whole dark feel to it. The battlefieldas the background is a powerful image, and I think you managed to draw in the death and pain that occurs during wars.

I think that your perspective is pretty acurate. I must know what goes into a creation of this level of detail? Are you a digital artist or a traditional artist? Do you use a Waicom or di youjust scan it in?
p.s It's beautiful almost like the Blue Ridge mountains.
