Description My mom would hide this betamax tape from me, but I knew where to find it.  I was inspired after discovering Ralph Bakshi is on Twitter and he shares some rad stuff on there.  If it is him, the account isn't verified, cool art either way.

Always loved this movie!  Saw it first at the downtown theater when it first came out.  Also loved some of Bakshi's other movies.

That would have been a cool time to see it.  I've seen a few of his movies like Fritz the Cat, LotR and Cool World.  I'd still like to see Fire and Ice and American Pop.

His LotR was pretty good for an early attempt at producing a Tolkien story-to-screen.  Tried watching "Cool World" when it came out on VHS, but couldn't get too far into it.  Didn't appeal to me.  A friend had "Fire and Ice" and it was enjoyable.  "American Pop" was one of those movies that was a 'watch once, but never again'.  Didn't sit too well with me.

Yeah, Cool World was disappointing.  I really wanted to see it as a kid, but didn't get around to it until I got it on DVD.  Yet, I kinda want to revisit it after seeing concept art on Twitter.

I'm interested in Fire and Ice because it was a collaboration with Frank Frazetta.  American Pop, I've heard recently, is seen as his best film by some.  I've avoided it before because of the rotoscoping.  Plus Jimi Hendrix is in it, so it's got to be worth seeing.

In 'Cool World', the story line was interesting, but the presentation didn't seem to fit with it.  And 'Fire and Ice' was great because of the collaboration with Frazetta.  'American Pop' was good, but what the characters went through to reach the end of the family line was rather disheartening.

He also mentored some of the most influential people in 90s animation like John K and Bruce Timm when they all worked on Mighty Mouse together.
