Description After a forest fire, often new growth comes back vigorously, such as these blueberry plants.  When fall comes, they hang on late.

Shenandoahs. I have likely hiked this stretch of trail. But that was 1983....

This is Brown Mountain Trail in the Southern Section of the SNP.  It does not intersect the Appalachian Trail, but its start is pretty close to it.  There have been 2 fires there since 1983--in 1986 and again in 2016.  This area has had only small trees since 1986, and I don't know how it looked before then.

It is a hiking trail on a mountain where a forest fire (I have 5 other photos posted of the fire or the aftermath) was.  Or are you asking where it is?
