A returning line from Kalos. To me, Slurpuff just didn't seem like a strong final form, I was very surprised when an evolution wasn't revealed for it at the time. I also feel the same about Aromatisse.

For Merangpet, I pushed the whipped and meringue aspects of Slurpuff's design. It's also intended to look like a wobbly and ill-stacked multi-layered chocolate cake. I also took influence from Kalos' sweet Pokepuffs for the top of its head. In some small sections of France, an old term for meringue kisses is 'pets', also tying into its name. I also gave Merangpet one of my Gen I moves:

DISTRACTION: Normal Type Status Move. PP: 10, ACC: 100% The target's Evasion drops by 2 stages. The User becomes the centre of attention.
