SPLASH STORY #3
Having witnessed Dillon lose his father's files that could incriminate Clarence Lockhart, Hali and Brayson track him down to a lake just outside Cherrygrove to comfort him. However, Dillon has already made up his mind to sneak into the Lockhart Inc. Gala happening that night in Goldenrod City, and find more incriminating evidence on Clarence. Brayson and Hali decide to support him and go too, and the trio borrow the same transport they used when travelling to Violet City to challenge Falkner: Zale's Gyarados- Arashi. On the back of the Gyarados, the trio fly out over the clouds, and are able to travel the large distance over an hour, to reach Goldenrod by nightfall.

The trio quietly approach the Johto Grand Golden Hall where the Gala will take place, but question how they will enter the black-tie event. Amazingly, they get mistaken for three Poke'mon trainers by an event organiser, and are ushered into a foyer with a dozen other young Trainers. Hali and Brayson question what Dillon plans to do, and he responds that their goal should be to get backstage somehow. Preferably while Clarence Lockhart is up on stage. They are brought in to the crowded hall and shifted along one wall to stand and watch the event.

Shortly after, the lights dim, the stage lights up, and the CEO of Lockhart Inc. -Clarence Lockhart appears on stage in the flesh. He begins talking for a moment about the new Johto branch and the Poke'mon Trainer gear line they are bringing exclusively to the region, celebrating designs from numerous Johto artists and designers. He begins thanking several people, and all the while, Dillon can feel his hatred for this man grow. His family's life was changed the day that Clarence unjustly fired his father. And if Clarence is using the company as a cover for money laundering, black market dealings and illegal Poke'mon smuggling, then it's a lot more than Dillon's family that is being hurt by this man.
"I won't prattle on for much longer," the CEO shifts his weight, "We'll introduce to you the first release of the Gold Series now. Here as a special guest tonight, debuting the Lockhart Inc. Gold Series, is Ace Trainer and my own grandson- Aidan Lockhart."
There was thunderous applause around the room. People rose from their seats. Dillon felt like someone had squeezed the air out of his body. His mind and lungs froze at once. His heart bludgeoned inside his chest.
Aidan Lockhart?
His teacher is Clarence's grandson...
