Description This character was inspired by a dragon plushie I picked up at a local thrift store, as well as the Wings of Fire series.

NAME:  Conch
AGE:  50
OCCUPATION:  Journalist (Storyteller on the side)
GENDER:  Male
SPECIES:  Seawing/Icewing Hybrid

BIO
Conch is a newspaper journalist.  He likes to write stories about things that have happened are are happening all over Pyrrhia, whether it be war stories, nature stories, made-up stories (Yes, he even has a column dedicated to fictional stories, and even stories that he is not sure if they are true or not)

BACKSTORY
Conch is the offspring of an Icewing and a Seawing.  His mother was the Icewing who had run away, being unsatisfied with the strict hierarchy.  While his father was a Seawing who had been discharged from the Seawing army due to insubordination.  He chose exile over execution because he valued his own life too much, and he didn't want his fellow soldiers to be horrified because of the Queen's violence.
While his mother was slightly temperamental, it was nowhere near the level of Arctic, and eventually she calmed to the point where not a lot of things bothered her, especially after Conch hatched.

Conch decided he wanted to be a journalist pretty early on.  He had heard many war stories, and he liked to interview war refugees, or those who had lost something dear to them because of the war.  Granted, he was born before the Sandwding war first began, but there were still minor tribe battles here and there that resulted in some dragons dying, which was good enough for some stories.
Conch has even been to the Nightwing volcano, one of the few non-Nightwings to do so of their own volition.  He didn't get much information out of them, but he was able to piece together a few things.  However, he kept that information to himself until it was common knowledge.

When the War finally ended, and Conch was finally able to talk with a lot of other dragons in all seven Kingdoms (including the Rainforest), he had met several dragons who were devastated for a number of reasons.  The Talons of Peace were upset that they had been manipulated and lied to by Morrowseer, and that they knew it would take a lot to earn forgiveness.  Man Skywings were heartbroken to learn that many of their mates had been killed mercilessly while on duty by a troupe of Nightwings, and even MORE devastated when they learned that the Prophecy was a lie the whole time.  Conch knows that NOBODY likes to be lied to.  When the story came out after the war finally ended, and Thorn was crowned Queen there were several sighs of relief, some of outrage, and some that were indifferent.

That wasn't the end of it however, as four months later when Darkstalker awoke, things got even more difficult for Conch.  At first, it wasn't so bad.  His parents were able to survive, and neither one of them went back to their own homes.  But when DArkstalker officially rose again that's when things got REALLY bad.  Conch had known about Darkstalker's REAL story beforehand, as his ancestors could be traced all the way back to Darkstalker's original time.  Some of whom even knew Coelacanth when he was a young dragonet.  They never got too involved with what Darkstalker was up to, but they did know the true story, and kept it documented for the future generations.  (It was kept in a secret vault that only a select few dragons were trusted to know about.  Conch's ancestors were the primaries, since they did the digging.

When Darkstalker sent the Icewing plague his mother was infected, and unfortunately died.  His father died of a broken heart soon after, and after that Conch went into hiding.  He knew that if he was ever discovered, he would die just like his parents.  When he was found it was by Coelacanth who had told him that Darkstalker was no more.  So Conch went around interviewing those involved, but the information he got was inconclusive, so even he is unsure what REALLY happened.  All he knows is that one huge dragon disappeared and one small one, who looks similar arrived without explanation.  He has his own theories, but is unsure if he wants to share them.

When he isn't writing stories for papers or a special column, he is instead writing storybooks (some of which are based off his own experience and theories.  He even likes to read them aloud to anyone who will listen.  He is a very good storyteller and likes stories with all kinds of different plots, heroes, villains, etc.  One day he hopes to learn the real truth of what happened to Darkstalker, but he is also fine with not knowing as long as he can still get stories.

ABILITIES
He has immunity to most Icewing powers, including the freezing death breath, and is able to swim and breathe underwater.  The downside is he has low stamina, as he prefers to use his hands to write rather than fight.

STRENGTHS
Good with words and has a good eye and ear for getting details from a story that may mot have been given directly.  For instance, he was able to determine how true the prophecy was just by simple context clues.  He knew it was false for a while, but he never spoke up about it for fear of being found and killed, ESPECIALLY after hearing how the Nightwings had killed fourteen Icewings in Queen Scarlet's arena when they were completely defenseless.

WEAKNESS
Low stamina.  He prefers to use his abilities to write, not fight.  He doesn't have the Icewing freezing death breath, nor does have have the flashing stripes of a Seawing (Well, he has some, but it isn't enough to get by, he makes up for this with a device of his own creation that will flash whenever he wants it to.  Similar to Morse Code)
