You know how kids around middle school age are. They'll inevitably pick it up from somewhere (mostly older siblings and each other). And they always get ideas, not that they have the freedom to act on most of them. I have direct written evidence somewhere that when I was in middle school, I thought most of my classmates were disgusting perverts. Sadly, I don't think said primary source mentions how they also think they know everything about sex, despite knowing almost nothing; I suspect I did not make that observation at the time, since it wasn't like I knew any more than they did. But now we both know it's almost always true. That's just how kids that age are.
So you might as well exert some control over the information they're getting.
Or better yet, avoid middle-schoolers like the plague.
