Nah, there's a scene where the mirror clone is trying to pick up boys in this sexy black minidress. But she had no idea what guys liked. So Ranma (for some screwed up reason, probably "rule of funny") was like "No way, you can't go around picking up guys like that!" And she puts on a white version of the same minidress and teaches her mirror clone how to pick up guys. It was hilariously sexy!

For a time in the series, Ranma was trying to hide from his mother, so she wouldn't go through with her "you must be a man amongst men or I'll force you to kill yourself" contract. Her mother eventually discovering Ranma's girl side (but not knowing she was actually her son) gave rise to "Ranko Tendo", Akane's "cousin".

And the manga covers tend to be the source of the cannon hair colors from what I've seen.

Really? Β I'd heard that the hair color change was just a way to make it easier for the audience to tell whether or not Ranma was a boy or girl, and that the manga covers with red hair were either unusual stylistic choices or done as nods to the show. Β (Some of the covers also had things like Ranma with green hair as a guy and blue hair as a girl, or both with black-tinted green hair or things like that.) If the red hair on the covers were the inspiration, I may have some facts scrambled.

I'm not really sure which came first, I just found that most manga covers tend to be where official hair colors are first revealed, I can't be sure if ranma 1/2 followed that trend or not.

That's not actually true for Ranma-chan's hair color, though. The anime decided to give her read hair to help differentiate her from Ranma-kun (and because red hair is awesome!). This was before the manga was completed, though, and Takahashi adapted that red hair decision into a few cover arts.
