See!  Now that gives a difference between the two identities.

More than  glasses and a hair part.

They actually do justify it quite a bit. In the Silver Age, this usually took the form of robot clones and super-hypnosis, and these days, it tends to be more along the lines of "Clark is a very good actor." Christopher Reeve showed the latter pretty well; when he was Clark Kent, he slouched, raised his voice a few octaves, and wore baggy clothes to make him look more flabby than cut.

I've always found it hilarious how people have a problem with this aspect of Superman and not the times where he does something like hold a black hole in his hands with no side effects.

Like, how do you prioritize that?

By that logic you shouldn't be able to criticize *any* ancillary aspect of a super-powered hero, because the superpowers are patently ridiculous.

"Oh you want to complain about Peter Parker's habitual poor live choices?  Sorry!  Not until you gripe about how dumb it is to get superpowers via radioactive/genetically engineered spider bites."

Pretty sure they retcomed it so that it was a magic spider that just happened to be exposed to radiation.

And I'm just saying, I find it funny how the most mundane aspect of Superman is somehow the most debated one, power level and versus debates notwithstanding.

Maybe you just have a harder time suspending your disbelief than the average person? From my perspective, how superman's powers work is meaningless. They work, therefore they are.

I think you are missing the point of my comment. I'm joking about how despite being around for almost 80 years, people keep mocking the whole Clark Kenting thing, yet they don't bat an eye when he does something like punches the literal God out of someone.

I guess I just don't get the joke? Why is that funny?

Because the whole glasses, poster and mannerism change actually works in real life but that's the thing people find hard to believe.

The reason people find it so hard to believe is that most don't realize that its anything more than just glasses. And if it were just putting on glasses, it would obviously be ridiculous.

Clara Kent can't be Superwoman!  They're totally different!  One is a mild-mannered reporter, and the other is the Woman of Steel!  And if they were the same person, don't you think that Lane fella' would have blown the whistle already?

Does anyone else find it odd that her hair is longer as Clara Kent than as Superman?

It must be a wig, like how pre-Crisis Supergirl wore a brunette wig when she was in her Linda Lee/Danvers identity. A wig as Clara Kent would also get around the "Kryptonian hair can't be cut except by Kryptonian blades" issue, which lets her "prove that she's not the invulnerable Superwoman" as well as change up her hair style every now and then.

Clara and Lois Lane would either be frenemy rivals, or besties--assuming that we don't have a Rule 63 Louis Lane instead . . .
