"Maybe he's that rare animal — the one real man every woman meet once in her lifetime..."Rorschach in Gotham has returned! You thought I forgot? Of course not, because you, the fans, demand this from me! (My mind boggles that I even have fans, too!) I've been very busy with school, but I have several other drawings still in the works and I'll upload them here when they're ready, so look out for those in the near future.
This is a Happy Lunar New Year and a Happy Valentine's Day (to both the singles and couples) this weekend. It was one of my first doodles for Rorschach in Gotham, cleaned it up with ink, stuck it in a sketch-book, forgot about it, discovered it again, came to hate it, shoved it in a different sketch-book, found it again, this time worse for wear, and wasn't as bad as I thought it was. Therefore, I coloured it and did a stupid background — for the people who complained about my lack of backgrounds in my last RiG artpiece. I'm a character animator, not a background artist! I can't do backgrounds to save my life, so I hope you're satisfied with this half-ass job. The dialogue is just an excerpt from a RiG episode in the works, discussing Rorschach's obsession with his journal. (This piece is dedicated to my good WatchFriends, *chattenoir889 and ~BerlinsGoneWhere ! Many huggles and snuggles to you!) Enjoy!

Really I like this drawing XD.I like specially the colors. I was afraid of that you forgotten to create RIG's new art XD. How are you? have you written new texts of RIG? Sorry, I am distant of Deviant, I am in a course of design and do not have time to write here. I have nostalgia of RIG's long conversations that I supported with you.

Rorschach definitely has a way of saying "I tolerate you" to her, lol! Also, I can't say he allows her to touch him willingly. His shoulders are up, trying to shrug her off. His body language is saying, "Go away" -- but in a POLITE way, for him...
No, I haven't forget. I've been drawing RiG art for some time; it's really about finishing them and finishing them well. A good deal of them are unpresentable at the moment. And school comes first, no worries, although I do miss our conversations.

Yes, I saw his shoulders, he looks uncomfortable, reluctant (though he does not reject her body XD). It's a good picture for that. And also very romantic...
Yes, school (or work) is the first ... sniff but to talk about should always be time RiG. I'm curious if you have already decided definitely that villains will appear in story, and characters that will have a greater role over others. To say that I'm looking forward to seeing your art on the scarecrow. The scarecrow is a character that I find disturbing, and really hard to draw.

I'm glad! Catwoman is just being Catwoman. Rorschach is always hesitant and reluctant and uncomfortable when she gets to close, whenever she invades his personal space. It makes him squirm, but he doesn't exactly pull away either. It's as sweet as Rorschach goes. So, yes, it is romantic....well, for them, heeheehee!
I'm working on a Riddler piece at the moment. I'm still working on designs for Scarecrow. I have learned that Scarecrow is the most difficult character to design for. No matter what you do, a guy wearing rags, a funny hat, a potato sack over your head with straw growing out of his ears isn't scary at all! It's just laughable! I really, really want Scarecrow to look scary and be scary and disturbing, but soooooooo difficult to draw and draw well...

Riddler piece! I'm looking forward to seeing that picture: I am very curious to see the end result of this character. I've always thought that his suit is ridiculous.But Riddler is also a complicated character with many questions
I'm agree with you on the scarecrow: A man dressed in torn clothes, a sack of potatoes and straw, only produces fear of birds XD
I am also looking forward to seeing the joker and the penguin. I guess the Joker design of IBC will be similar to the Joker from the animated series. but I'd like him physically resembles the Joker from Killing Joke. I've found that I can't keep to the Batman: Animated Series style. I'm just more comfortable with my own style. I'm trying to escape it, but it just keeps coming back. I really want to make it a tribute to the comics more than the animated series.
I admit the Riddler's green tights are laughable, but I've always preferred the Riddler in his suit when he's done right, like in the animated series: [link] . I did love the cover art fro Green Arrow: but he art inside was horrible though . I just recently saw a beautiful design for the Riddler in the Gotham City Sirens by Paul Dini and Guillem March: [link] , [link] .
Brian Bolland's Joker, from The Killing Joke, is perhaps one of my favourite Joker designs. I actually have a large poster of the cover of Killing Joker on my bedroom wall. When I think of the Joker, I immediately think of Bolland's art: [link] , [link] . I also love the way he's been portrayed by Mike Deodato, Jr: [link] ; Michael Lark, which I always found really creepy because it's the Joker as if he could really exist in life; it's very Conrad Veidt: [link] ; Alex Ross: [link] ; and, of course, Patient J played by Paul Molnar: [link] , [link] , [link] . Mostly likely, I'm going to use the Bolland design as the primary model because it is Alan Moore and this is Watchmen/Batman crossover! But I'd like to add some Patient J for sure because Paul Molnar's Joker is who I see when I think of the Joker done live-action.
Scarecrow is still in the works; it's a giant composite of my favourite aspects of his many, many designs. I wish I could make him scary, or scarier, but it's difficult to do with him. Mad Hatter, as discussed, remains practically the same to the animated series with a darker palette. You know something I want to use your design of Baby Doll as a primary reference; the more I look at your design for her, the more I fall in love with it.

It is hard to draw with Timm's style, he has a very personal style. But you draw of a beautiful form(I like the way that you draw to Rors)The story is in the process of creation, in some moment you were finding the style for RiG. I do not believe that stories are created from the overnight
Oh, I am glad much that you love my design of Baby Doll, It is a great honor that you use of reference: Your ideas and your commentaries inspired me. I had not done this Drawing without tuys commentaries and ideas for RiG. Certainly,thanks to you, I have turned in a fanatic of the couple MadHatter-BabyDoll. I adore the couple Walter-selina, but... Jervis and Mary are really adorable (almost). You have to write RiG! is an amazing story with a lot of force, and a beautiful honoring to Watchmen and Batman saga
I like the Riddler in the GC Sirens: I really like his design, He is something other than typical Rider, he looks physically strong. I especially like the characterization of his face (hard but intellectual) he dont has a ridiculous appearance! just the opposite!
Paul Molnar is the best, really I am charmed with his work in patient J. I want to see more fanfilms with him as protagonist. Yes, I also think that the fusion of different Joker (Bolland-Molnar) may be the perfect solution. He is a complicated character for me, I've never been good at drawing to Joker (I think I did not draw his smile XD)about the scarecrow... Patience,VERY VER VERY patience: Draw him is an incredible company

As much as I love Bruce Timm's style, I'm simply more comfortable with my own style, much to my dismay. He's all curves and I'm all angles. I should really learn to appreciate my drawing style and embrace it, but I'm always dissatistified because all I see are the flaws. You're correct. Like the stories, the style are still an ongoing process.
I was so honoured and flattered beyond belief that you're enjoying RiG so much. It really means a great deal to me! I'm glad your a fan of the Mad Hatter-Babydoll "romance" because I'm not sure how a general audience will take it. It is techincally "legal," although it's ethically wrong. Reading the comments on your deviations is really interesting to see that people seem to like the idea.
I've just finished reading the new issues of Gotham City Sirens and they stopped drawing Ivy with Dragonball hair. I really don't know why the artist did that originally. I suppose it's to make her look more like a flower. At times, it looked really nice; but most of the time, it was just bizarre, so I'm really glad it's back to normal (downward) hair. It's sexier that way. Nonetheless, I really love the way they use the Riddler in this series. He comes off as a very cerebral asshole, which I love, and yet he's still adorable as hell! They even let him have a date, like a normal person -- and, as a Riddler fan, it means a lot!
Paul Molnar, I hope, will return to the role of the Joker again. I did see him recently in Here Lies Revelations (2008), which I recommend: [link]
I really want to use Molnar as a model for the Joker along with Bolland's Joker as well.

I'm currently working on a piece that would touch on a few of Batman's jealousies. One is where he confronts Catwoman on how dangerous Rorschach is and, on a seperate occasion, he confronts Rorschach on how dangerous Catwoman is; of course, this happens early in their partnership. Another happens far later in the partnership, where Catwoman is injured and unconscious. Batman demands that he himself would take care of her and give her the proper medical attention, but Rorschach says he'll take care of it. When Batman demands why, Rorschach simply responds (somewhat vaguely), "I don't like/trust you."

I could see Rorshach telling Batman that he heard the same about him as a retort (regarding the first scenario).
As for the second...well, he does tend to look after those he semi-regards as a friend (or something close to it).

Since I always did a Rorschach and Batman confrontation with "Paging the Batman"; I might just have both Catwoman and Rorschach tell off Batman, for good measure. Although I can also see Catwoman hide behind Rorschach when Batman's there. Or I can just have them all together, working together, to their personal dismays. So many options...
Also, Rorschach rather considers Batman somewhat of an enemy (or a rival) of his. Batman didn't exactly welcome him in Gotham, in fact their first meeting was nothing more than collection of threats and warnings. But Selina did save his life at one point, he's returning the favour...in his own way.

Very nice piece! I'm glad you didn't decide to discard it. I like Rorschach's posture, and how he looks like he might shrug her away or elbow her in the face... not that I'd enjoy poor Catwoman taking an elbow to the face...
