Eiden episode 11 illustration

There's a moment when Ketake jr. escalates his power and he's not really concious how destructive it is (he's like Kyle a bit, but I created the plot before DBS was emitted, so it was not inspired... and well ... Ketake jr is a kid and this is the main reason why he has problems with power control) and Yamcha shields Eiden with his own body and pushes her back to protect her.

(It looks a bit as if they ran into each other, but if so, his hair would float into different direction )

I have a feeling this picture has the most DB's climate from all things I submitted since I got back to regular drawing. This is probably because as the episode 11 starts with a gloomy and sad feelings, it later evolves into the climate that reminds me an early DB - looking for balls, fighting weird creatures, stupid dialogues and stuff. This is also the last part having this climate, later the story gets more and more mature and also gloomy, depressing etc. This is probably one of the reasons why I can't finish it - the next episodes are more interesting to adult me than the story about kids having adventures etc. Maybe I'm just too old for this.

Long time ago I realised, that most of the the illustrations to episodes 12-14 are done in b&w. I was doing this subconsciously. Drawing this one, I realised also another thing - I draw the characters in more realistic way, if I illustrate episodes 12-14, while earlier episodes are illustrated in more comic style (like this one).

Still in my style anyway, I don't want to copy anybody.

To tell the truth it was not the purpose to illustrate this particular moment. I had his pose in my mind and wanted to use it to sth. I also wanted to practice a few things - perspective, hands, expressions, motion, shading.
I didn't use any pose references, all from my head. i like hands here ^_^

When I was creating the story, I was a teen and I was obsessed about long haired guys xD . I didn't really like this particular haircut Now I think this one was the best But as the story was created long time ago, I don;t want to change it so in episodes 12-14 Yammy has that emo hairdo with hair covering his face xD
