1. Sketch! Simple pencil drawing
2. PUT THAT BAD BOY IN PHOTOSHOP!! So I cheat a little.. when it comes to line art. ;w; I really don't do the line, but rather I multiple a duplicate layer and that works as line art. -derp-
3. FLAT COLOR. Simply put the primary colors of your character on! 
---- BEGIN THE DETAILS----
4. Lights! So decide at what point you want the light to impact the character! I decided that the fire (in back of him) would do that job. So that means that the front of the face will be darker than the back.
5. Continue the process, this time add some highlights.
6. Now just make sure your color reflects the color of the light.
