Jae is around 10-11 years old here and Warren is in his late twenties. This takes place roughly five or so years before the events of Dumpling and three or so years after Dead Walls Rise.

Warren was the one to teach Jae how to read and write, but since Jae’s a stubborn little brat, it wasn’t until he was about ten or so that he would actually sit still long enough for any of the lessons to take hold. It was during these years that Jae grew really close to Warren and his feelings of living in Vhasshal began to turn away from fear and anxiety to seeing it as his home. Since Jae lost both his parents very suddenly and very young, he latched onto Warren as a parental figure pretty hard, but because they never actually spoke about what exactly they were to one another, Jae always felt insecure about his position. Until chapter 20 when it all comes to a head for him.

Fact about Jae: He suffers from panic attacks and regularly drinks a medicinal tea to combat them.

Fact about Warren: He hates coriander and his favorite color is blue, even though he wears mostly red due to tradition.
