Thanks so much everyone for the props on the artwork - Yes, it is Hi-Q out of his suit, although I'm sure even he doesn't know what it is. I'll post the lineart on my dA at some point if anyone fancies that
I always loved Powermaster Prime, I think mainly as he was one of my most played with 'bots - So we really wanted to do a story that put an interesting spin on a genesis and set up a bit of an alternate story - as with War Journal, we love alternate stories lol.

M3Gr1ml0ck and I are have a little project with our own "episodes" that continue from where the american cartoon ended, take a look at his web comics and my "Episodes Summaries" if you have some time. Maybe we could team up some day.

So who's the crazy in the cell? Is that Hi-Q out-of-suit or is Hi-Q there in-suite at the bottom of the last panel? At any rate, fabulous art and amazing take on the G1 comic "People Power". I got that one in a comic collection I picked up at a Con a while back. Had "People Power" and a few stories from various comic continuities in it, including a piece of "Stormbringer" and the Dreamwave Armada comic. Good stuff. Very good.

I beleive that is Hi-Q in the cell in the beginning. if you look closely at the suit in the bottom panel, there is no one in it yet.

Okay, yeah. That makes some sense. Just curious: is it artistic license that the Nebulans are green? Thanks for the clearing-up-of-my-confusion!

I think they were green in Spotlight Magnus too... but the ones that were seen didn't have any hair. Oddly though it wasn't intended when written (this was nearly a year ago) this story could fit in with current IDW continuity if you think about it...

It's no problem. As for the Nebulons, they were normal humans in the original comics, but they were green men in the last three episodes of the American G1 Transformers series

Spot on. It's clear that it's Hi-Q in the cell when the two officers talk about him, and that is indeed his "suit" on the last panel.

One small question: is this Masterforce related? O.o
Loving the art, especially the last panel.

Naw, Powermaster-related. In the American comics, Optimus Prime was built a Powermaster body by space aliens.

Soooo neat. This is an interesting alternate means of telling the story of how those two came together.

It's Powermaster Optimus Prime. The smaller "robot" near him is his symbiotic partner, Hi-Q.

He's actually many peoples' favorite of the G1 Prime. The FIRST Optimus Prime to combine with his trailer, as seen in the above Mosaic.

a.) His name was Ginrai, and he wasn't actually Optimus Prime, just a lookalike.
b.) They were the same toy.
c.) That was Japanese continuity, this is American.

Excellent, great art and an amazing story, it reminded me of several scenes in the old Mazinger anime, when they are repairing it. I'd love to see a sequel to this one.
