There's probably a different interaction, depending on the type of Cybertronian and Nebulan involved.
For instance, I suppose that an Autobot will cooperate with his human partner, while a Decepticon would probably antagonize him.

Thanks. I think that the binary bonding is a good sf concept that is worth exploring, instead of reducing it to a secondary gimmick. Sooner or later, we'll do something like this for Hunter/Suntreaker.

It depends on the continuity you're following.
In the Marvel comics, the origins of some Headmasters were never shown, and it is not 100% clear if they have a Nebulan partner or not.
Or at least that's what I remember; maybe it was clear or implicit...
You can also suppose this story is in cartoon continuity (after the Nebulans learned to change their body-look to blend in with humans.
