Description
This is for the 100 themes challenge I'm starting in the new year... this one is sacrifice. It was a close call between this and one other shot, but I think I like the composition of this more.I give permission to use this in their club gallery.

It's quite striking...I love the sharp contrast and the composition, though I think that if the whole picture was more in focus, it might highlight that contrast better. In any event, it's a lovely shot, and the theme gives it a whole new meaning.

I love the angle you used. Very simple yet powerful. The only complaint I have is the backdrop, but that isn't a big issue. The focus upon the white pawn is delightful as well as the angle used to bring out just what the meaning is. Then again, maybe it's just because I love chess. >,>

The backdrop was just a handheld blank sheet of paper about the same colour as the pawn, so the light made a little more shadow than I'd have preferred.
