ACEO trades for who was my partner in both and
I got the opportunity to paint whatever motive I wanted so this is what a chose, a hawk and a unicorn.
Β Hawk: This is something I've just really felt like painting at the moment. I wanted to practice making feather textures and I'm very pleased with how that tuned out. I also sketched with a pencil on top of the painting to make it look a bit more sketchy and alive.
Β Unicorn: This has to be my favorite animal even though it's a fantasy one. However I still claim to have seen one running by in the woods last summer it might also have been two seagulls..
I took inspiration for the light and background from the movie The Last Unicorn and the unicorn is referenced from foals cause I wanted the unicorn to have those long legs and seem smaller than a regular horse. It's also detailed with glitter pens and glitter glue. (Funny thing happened.. The bottle with glitter glue popped and now everything on my desk and my pants are very sparkly..
Sorry again for the wait, I thought I'd submit it today cause I have better light to take the photo.

I do like them, of course! It was definitely worth the wait~ I love hawk's feather detaining a lot, and the background texture fits the bird beautifully- it looks so warm! And the unicorns background also helps to create very intense atmosphere, I think- it's really mystical. I like the way you simplified anatomy but still caught its essence! What really caught my attention is the tail, though- not typically horse one, it adds to the uniqueness~ Thank you
