CT-1222, better known as “Blast,” was a clone trooper who served the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. He was a part of the elite 21st Nova Corps, in a unit known as Barrage Squad.

During the early years of the Clone Wars, he was caught up in an explosion that nearly killed him. His helmet and body remained intact, but the rest of his armor was not as fortunate, and had to be replaced. He kept wearing his blasted helmet as a reminder of his near-death experience, and even named himself after the event. He eventually did replace his helmet when transferring to Phase 2 clone trooper armor, but still hung onto it for sentimental purposes.
