Many of my favourite YouTubers(a whole group of 'em, in fact) have said they're OK with fanfics of any sort just so long as you don't shove weird shit in their faces or pester 'em about ships. FFS, one pairing was basically encouraged by 'em as they kept tweetin' these joke "I love my boyfriend so much" tweets despite them not actually being a couple. And another pairing is also practically encouraged thanks to the whole "Minecraft boyfriend/put our minecraft beds next to eachother" thing they keep doing. I'm a multishipper but one of my favourite ships seems to be a completely unique thing of mine(they have a cute dynamic and comment on eachother's videos a lot, one made a whole video just to support the other, they're basically the only two mature and responsible adults in the group and are basically a team mom and team dad- and I'm literally the only one who ships 'em).

There's a My Little Pony YouTuber named Cora Zone Unicorn who ships two characters who are enemies. Shes even put the ship into a series she's working on. But unfortunately she gets tons of backlash because "It's not cannon!" and "They hate each other!" as if villains can't be reformed.
(Plus Lauren Faust could see the story at any time and make it an episode SO IT CAN ALWAYS BECOME CANNON)
