oh shoot also the owl mask was a what she saw upon her arm being severed. She strove to make it to understand what happened. But she never wears it....out of fear.
The eyes covering helps keep her calm and collected. She can see fine. but doesnt want to

Well I have my head canon that she has always been fascinated with flight and even before getting her wings she only managed to make one before her arm was removed by an anomaly. The effect of such anomaly drove her slightly mad but still incredibly intelligent she kept inventing. The society around her was not welcoming however. She was "cursed" by this anomaly and they threw her out of the city. She has survived however and holds a bit of a grudge against those who threw her out.
