I'm quite enamored with this piece...I love any sort of ship painting or seascape, and the fact that you did it on slate makes it so much cooler. Did you use old roof slate, or something else? I remember when they were digging to put a new septic system in front of this historic house in my hometown, they found an epic pile of 18th century roofing slate. It was wonderful...I still have a couple of those pieces.
