The Phoenix ExperimentThis is a special limited print for the phoenix comic con. You have to go to the show to get one. There will be only 150 of them in print, each will be numbered and signed and retail $20 a piece.

A red pheonix! 
Anyhow, care to listen? I noticed that there is no shadow on the paper or stuffs on the table while the fiery bird is very bright. Personally I know you realize that. I am just curious if you've tried in adding shadow?
Still, its a good piece. I like the details

yeah flares are a little tricky.
as for your observations that is pretty good- i thought about shadows- i guess i will have to give it a try

This is a very interesting and involving piece. Lots to see here, culminating in the flashy little phoenix on the table. Love the fantasy.

Great snake! that's one damn whole lot of details you put in there. The cloth, the steam tank, the paper sketches, the fish, everything looks fantastic and right at what they are. I can hardly wait for the full color. The robot fish outside the tank definitely made the fantasy world looked limitless, as they fit well with one of your drawing on underwater travels. It's like connecting your art between your arts.
Whatever you're doing now. You made a very strong head start.

thanks now i have to finish the coloring which i am hoping to do in the next week or so- but i am pretty wrapped up in bean as well.

well the fish made sense and it is the cactus con- so i had to personalize it for them

Trav, once again I feel inspired. I don't know how you always manage to come up with pics to make me smile when I am starting to feel overwhelmed my life.

I think that many of us are having a bumpy go of it. I am really sorry to hear about your losses though. Grieving is a process as individual, as the person feeling it, and I hope that you and your family make it through this, remembering how important those that y'all lost meant to you. It seems that the price of love sometimes is grief, but it is a price worth paying. keep your chin up, Brother, and keep doing what you do. I know that many of us are for ya when you need some picking up.

any time Trav, that is one of the reasons we gather on sites like this, we get to know some pretty cool people. I know I have met some folks that I have come to know and respect, and even made a couple of RL friends here. Hopefully i will manage to make it to one of the cons that you frequent one of these days, and we can shoot the bull for a while, and talk art, and the like.

yeah underwater just seemed to work so much better for this piece- i had to keep there.
