AKA: Let's unwittingly commit suicide! This reminded me of one time when, somehow, our barbarian with and INT, WIS, and CHA of 3 (not joking, lots of bad luck. The DM even offered to let him roll a new character) and a cursed magic helmet that made him very persuasion made the decision to attack a pack of blink dogs, and I was the only one who somehow didn't fail the save to not attack with him. I ended up alone, but with a pack of blink dogs as allies.

True... though in D&D's case, that depend on if the DM allows rerolling (ours only allowed it under special circumstances)

Cool. We survived, because we ran out through windows of baddies mansion. It was the first time I was happy that I play as mage specialised in illusion. There were witnesses of our break in. If I played as any other kind of mage, we'd probably need to kill them (GM punished us with detailed descriptions of their family life), but I brainwashed us out of their memory.

Lucky you. I ended up with a group of new (ly rolled) characters, but had become obsessed over dogs and wolves, buy especially blink dogs. I managed to find a way to blink like them, then eventually went mad when the bosz murdered my blink dogs. I blamed the other characters and we ended up in one amazing fight that they won because the rogue got lucky with a knife throw.

My GM played once as healer/necromancer that believed that death is a reward for good life. He was healing characters who he didn't like because "they didn't deseve" and his friends because "it wasn't their time". For his acting he was getting a lot of exp and at some point ended up as a boss. He fought his whole party with a ressurrected dragon.

Wow. I have a friend who played as a wild magiv sorcerer, became possessed, fought his party, then, when he was defeated, he rolled on the wild magic table 10 times, with all ten effect happening at the same time. The phrase "Utter Chaos" was the best description.

And that, kids, is why you don't roll a 1 next to a demonic altar!

Speaking of, I remember one time when the party of trying to get into a self-contained fortress that sat on what was effectively an island in the middle of a bottomless pit. The only way across was the drawbridge, which was up. So, they decided to have the dragonborn (who had a STR of 20) throw the dwarf hireling across. He rolled a one, dropped the dwarf, and watched him vanish into the pit. He succeed with the gnome wizard, though!

Oh, god... The gladiatorial pits... Why did you remind me?

One time, I attacked this random guy I didn't like (playing Lawful Evil) and ended up killing what should have been the final boss. We got arrested and put in the gladiatorial pits. The whole campaign became us escaping. To do that, we had to fight our way out. We all died in gladiatorial fights that we had to do one on one, with the exception of the two gnome brothers who fault as a two person team. As it turns out, the cleric lasted the longest because she could heal herself.

Well, in our case a necromancer stripped of power made a pact with a demon. Then of course, started conquering a valley, which conveniently our characters were exploring in search of graves of certain bandits (for historian). We alerted all inhabitants in the valley and brought some of them to only village. On a way we saved certain family of farmers (one of which was a healer and other was a good warrior) and wasted opportunity to save two dwarves and a sorceress. For some reason villagers decided we should be the leaders of defence and we prepared... too well. According to campaign we had to lose the battle and evacuate to fortified monastery. But we fortified village well enough and during batte I (mage) sensed presence of the necromancer. We made an attack team made of us (coachman that is a walking arsenal, an elf acrobat which likes robbing corpses way too much, me - sorcerer appentrice with a cursed staff, ex-soldier (probably deserter), emerited soldier (from that farm) and two or more dwarven miners. Somehow we managed to kill the necromancer, which in turn destroyed all the undead.
