My Husband's DM is so predictable everyone knows to pour all their resources into combat and not waste time with anything else.Β As a result Mythic campaign had to be ended early with a victory being declared to the party because the DM realized he couldn't create a dragon that would be a challenge to the party without it being able to wipe them out with one breath.Β This happened after (I believe) a level 14 paladin one-shot a level 20 black dragon.Β He called it "breaking the table".

GM stands for Game Master, and DM stands for Dungeon Master.Β
They're both shorthand terms for the person who's running the game. DM is typically used for specifically Dungeons and Dragons (DnD), while GM is usually used for any sort of similar game that isn't specifically DnD. But they're still basically interchangable. (All DMs are GMs, but not all GMs are DMs, if that makes sense.)Β
