Beautiful. It reminds me of the time when my homeschooling group did an autumn trip to a nearby Catholic college campus to have the kids identify different trees by their leaves. I was wandering around, doing my thing, when I discovered this little structure that had an exterior that looked like it was made of pebbles. I went inside, and discovered a statue of the Virgin Mary, with the sunlight glowing on her shoulders from a single beam of light that filtered through a hole in the top. 9-year-old me stood in awe until my name was called. I was sorry I could not linger longer there.
That was before I knew what a grotto or who the Virgin Mary was, but it's one of my favorite childhood memories. Thanks for reminding me of that, Trav.
