Description In which this comic kinda-sorta passes the first part of the Bechdel test , then totally fails to pass the other two parts! Hopefully the fact that it's basically just fanservice aimed, statistically speaking, mostly at women, makes it not too terribly unfeminist of me.

Poor Loki. Even his favorite parts aren't so great for him.

On the bright side, I've decided that the Avengers trailers are canon enough for him to snag that great hair.

I know! I wondered about that, too. Although to be fair, the whole total-dishonesty thing Loki has going on with, like, everybody he talks to might not be an ideal leadership quality, either. Even if it does make for a pretty good politician.

The fun thing is that in most of the original mythos, Loki and Thor were sent to act as emissaries purely so that if Loki couldn't sweet talk everyone to their side, Thor could beat them all to a pulp. Win! XD

Personally, If I had to choose the ruler of Asgard, it'd be Frigga or Darcy. xD Both have the common sense to do it. xD

Haha, wow. I didn't know that - most of my knowledge of Norse mythology comes from the Diana Wynne Jones book Eight Days of Luke, which, while super-awesome, is hardly a textbook.

My brother was absolutely NUTS on Norse myth, and thus got me addicted to Mythology as a whole. Loki had always been my favourite, so, while hauling the MASSIVE grain of Salt that it takes to watch the movie, I still loved the fact that there actually IS a Norse-y myth-y movie. ...And hey, Loki is cool, Thor is hot, and Volstagg is funny. Instant love. xD

...Even if Laufey is actually Loki's mother in the original myths. >.> The name means 'she of the Wooded Isle' xDDD

If you ever get interested in looking up Mythos, a good site is www.godchecker.com, which is funny enough to make even something as tedious as the Eddas or the Iliad interesting, or D'Aulaires book of Norse Myths (which, although is technically a younger age group, actually has some very good story telling talent,) along with the usual Hamilton's Mythology and The Norse Myths by Keven Crossley. If it interests you, then you can try the Prose Edda and such, but I suggest you wait, because it is nearly as boring as the Beowulf Saga >.> Lokkasenna, on the other hand, is kind of fun. It's purely all the gods at a party, roaring drunk, while Loki insults them. It's great.

I will shut up now and stop spamming you, sorry!
