So, Thomas happened to mention that he has like, a smidgen of experience with ballet. Β And I happen to lack the ability to help myself.
I have no idea how old Thomas was when he learned any form of ballet, but I know I was about four years old, so I decided to set the Sides at a much younger age than Thomas happens to be now XD

as someone whose done ballet, among other dance styles, for nearly all my life this is uper fun to see!
Logan makes me laugh, my mom always bought me technique books, i havent read a single one of them. I very much felt like I relate a lot to Patton and Roman here, i'm not the best dancer but hell i have a good time performing. I'm on break this yearΒ and even though I had the experience to be on point (which i should say, is a lot and you cant get em till you're at least like 12 at my school) i didnt like it at all because point shoes freakin gsuck, hah
ballet will always be close to my heart though.Β At my school we had about 3-4 classes of ballet a week, depending on if you had a one-on-one class. A technique class, a choreography class, and an extra class for whatever was most needed to be worked on, usually more technique at the beginning of term and then more practicing the recital dance near end term
-Logan would be very much the opposite of me hah, he'd probably have a much better time in the technique classes where it was structured and less emotive. He'd be super good with his leg and arm placements, like he would RULE at the bar work.
-Patton would be more like me I feel, superΒ emotive and and able to convey an incredible amount of character while dances, get super bored in technique class, probably wouldn't be on point for a while or at least not very stable with it, it requires so much balance and strength in ye legs man
-Virgil would be kinda like a friend of mine i feel, he would be a super pretty dancer but might overwork himself at times to make sure hes at his best.
-And Roman, all out do all the things Mr Perfect, gets all the lead roles because he just dazzles a crowd honestly. Defo takes one-on-one classes haha

As someone who took ballet as a wee thing and quit very early on, drawing this brought back all kinds of memories.Β As unlikely as it is for me to pick it back up now, I do miss the emotion and grace of ballet.
I myself strived to be like Roman, but probably looked more like a Patton.Β I loved getting praise when I was working extra hard; though, honestly, I doubt many WOULDN'T want that. XD
But I digress.Β I'm so glad you could relate to the drawing!!

OMG TINY SIDES AND BALLET DANCING? YES PLEASE! And they're all so accurate too!
Logan would probably learn all the positions, and maybe a few spins and moves, but would be very rigid and By-the-book.
Patton honestly would just have (and looks like he's having) the time of his life, even if he wasn't comepltely perfect at I think (also the cat ears are the cutest thing)
Virgil would have a bit of trouble with his flexibility at first, but he'd actually get very good at it. I think he'd use ballet as a kind of stress relief, but would be usually embarrassed when doing it in front of others.
Honestly Roman's pose says it all. He could easily be both the female and male parts in ballets, with his combined strength and flexibility.Β
