I watched this fella wiggle and jump for 10 minutes before he made it up. Once there, however, he seemed a bit disappointed by the lack of excitement. 0.oHoly smokes! My first DD!

This was taken in Santa Cruz, California on one of my vacation trips.
No, the sea lions are not dead

I used some sharpening and color adjustments, and I used a sort of para-hdr filter. I didn't really change any of the normal values. I just wanted to get some more detail out of it. Thanks for looking

Hahah, I remember going to Santa Cruz once and they were all just flopped down on the docks. It's pretty cool to see the wild sea lions like that. Very nice picture!

Darnit people, learn seal behavior and stop freaking out. They're alive and well, just tired. Seals tend to be lazy out of water.

I have seen paintings that look so real they are mistaken for photos.
This photo is so brilliant in composition, colour and lighting that it looks like it was a well planned painting.

It seems I'm not the only one that thought they were dead at first. Thought it was some depressing photo showing the horrors of seal killing.. luckily it's just adorable.
