this is my self portrait sculpture
all made from found things
the body was a paper mould i found in a skip in barcelona
the head a friend gave me and i mirrored it with cut up cds
the dreds are made from pipe cleaners and fakefur that was a really badly designed coat
all the beads were things i got in charity shops and the union jack ribbon a friend gave me.
where the arms should be there are holes and in those holes are 2 walkman speakers attached to a tape player.
i play easy listening tunes through the speakers
(when it was on show it played loud frank sinatra and doris day tunes which amused ppl)
my art is very silly
and i like it like that

yeah the music was my fav bit
made all the stiffs in the gallery loosen up i think
and as they walked around with their wine and cheese,i handed out fizzy haribo sweets to anyone who came over to my bit

the lips are 2 strawberries and an apple kids beads
and an old earring for the piercing
it definately pissed off my sculpture lecturer who is more of a wood with nails in it kinda guy
he said he would have failed anyone else who had mad this but as it was me and is so me he gave me a merit
it only took me 2 days to make too
some ppl spent months on their pieces..........

but as a great fan of easy listening and jazz i had to play doris and frank
it really upset a few stale ppl in the gallery i can tell ya
it took away the seriousness of art galleries which greatly amused me

my scupture lecturer hated it
hes a whack nails in a bit of wood then set fire to it kinda sculpturer
he was gobsmacked
