ew no that was a total fluke and its not even that good... The main thing I cant handle is perspective anyways! *cries* DX

The grass by the foreground tree has a really nice texture to it, though, and I like how you did the leaves of the tree farther back. The picture over all has a nice painterly feel to it, so I say it's not as bad as you think. c:

Thanks very much although I feel that overall the landscape is too cartoony for what I had intended, and not very expansive or clear. The green seems almost too green... And I really want to achieve a more believable landscape/background
how did you learn perspective? Did you just practise until it became more natural? How about backgrounds? Sorry for all the questions

I practice and do a lot of studies. I travel sometimes and memorize the landscapes around me, and when that's not an available option, Google is my best friend. c: I've also gone out of my way to buy several art books or view tutorials here on Deviantart to see how other artists do what they do.
Here's some advice though:
The farther away objects are in the background, the less pronounced their details and colors are. You can see this difference easily with mountainscapes. Here's an example: www.theroadscholar.net/images/…
The foreground consists of highly saturated greens from the trees, while the mountains in the background have an overall bluish tint due to the sky/atmosphere.
I hope that helps a bit.
