Description
(2003) Summer time was a good set time for taking classes that I knew I wouldn’t have the time for during the regular school years, so I signed up for “jewelry”...which wasn’t all that “bead this, string this and braid that” like I was expecting. I learned how to solder, cut, acid etch, stamp, beat, change the gauge of a wire and so on.This ring is completely original. The knot is my own design, hand cut from silver, soldered to a ring also hand cut from silver and manually sized to fit the boyfriend of that time. I iodized the silver and then scuffed and refined with 120 grit sand paper to bring back certain areas I wanted to remain shiny.
I had intended for the ring to fit my own finger, but the only way to get the knot cut with a jeweler’s saw, required the ring to be much larger than what would fit any finger of my own. (I wear a size 7 to a size 8...this was made to a size 13)
Note: do not use silver cleaning solutions when cleaning jewelry made like this, as it will ruin the affect the iodizing gave
for full knot design without the ring: [link] IT IS NOT STOCK. DO NO USE IT.

Aye it was, I wish I had the funds to have my own Co2 based soldering torch! I'd be making stuff a LOT more often!

Really a beautiful design. I don't wear jewelry as such in general unless it has personal value, so something like that is truly exceptional!

I don't wear much either, not all at once - generally I keep with the same pieces.
