I've made a huge error in this contest. The Artist who would have won first place, I unfortunately have to disqualify from the contest. Even With all our voting steps myself and the other admins didn't catch that the entry isn't a tree but in fact a vine. I'm terribly sorry for this mishap, but the other top 9 entries will still have their places.

A wonderful theme! But I'm afraid I won't participate in any more contests where traditional art is mixed (and judged) together with photography and digital art. As I explained sometime before, traditional art simply gets lost in an ocean of photos, thus traditional artists automatically finds themselves in a disadvantageous position.
HOWEVER, I will gladly donate some points to this contest (how do I do it, by the way?)

I agree to a certain Point. Most traditional art gets unnoticed (and I mainly contribute paintings).
But I think it is because of the high number of entries. I prefer only 1 entrance per member. And that will already be much!

I do see your point, However I must disagree a tiny bit.. Traditional & digital art has grown amazingly in our group, and as an example we had 2 traditional art and 1 digital art piece win in our most recent contest. trees-with-character.deviantar⦠...And the contest before that we had a digital piece win first place and a traditional piece win honorable mention. trees-with-character.deviantar⦠Unfortunately it is much easier to point the camera and capture a moment than it is to paint a picture. Thus the reason we have a larger amount of photographers than traditional/digital artists in our group. You never can judge the outcome unless you try
